I would like to file a complaint about a blonde female waitress at this restaurant who displayed an extremely poor attitude. She seemed to have a serious issue with misogyny or racial discrimination. My friend and I, as members of an ethnic minority group, entered the restaurant and made it clear that we didn’t have a reservation but would like to know if there were any available tables. Despite the restaurant having many empty tables, she told us it was fully booked. Fortunately, another male staff member eventually seated us.
Throughout the entire service, this waitress showed no sign of friendliness or a smile. However, she warmly greeted other white male customers with a smile. When my friend and I asked to have our food packed, she avoided helping us and passed the task on to her colleague instead. This experience left both of us extremely upset. It was shocking to encounter such treatment in this restaurant, and even more frustrating that the restaurant forced us to leave her a tip.
I strongly advise women, minorities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to avoid dining at this establishment, as encountering such a waitress will only lead to frustration and...
Read moreThe waitress did racist things to me. My husband and I don't know German. There is no English menu in this store. So I pointed to the menu and asked if it was a "mushroom," and the waitress said yes. After a while, the wrong menu was served and made a claim. "Because your country's English pronunciation was not good," the waitress said. I felt that the word she used was very serious. I didn't eat the food and just paid for it right away. It was enough to erase all the good memories from my week-long trip to Austria. Fortunately, because I study service studies, I am glad that her words and actions can serve as a good example of racism. ( And I'm going to publish a paper in the journal Service Society to make this known to many people. ) For Asians whose English pronunciation is not Austrian, go to...
Read moreThis was the first dinner restaurant I visited upon arriving in Vienna. The location is right in the city, making it a convenient choice for visitors.
The soup was a delight—warm and comforting, perfect for a cool and windy day, especially when adjusting to the colder climate after coming from a tropical country.
The schnitzel was well-cooked, and we particularly enjoyed the beef goulash, which was tender and flavorful.
However, the portions were quite generous for the two of us. For small eaters, I’d recommend starting with one main dish and ordering more if needed.
English is spoken at the restaurant, making it easy for travelers to order and communicate...
