A Celiac-Friendly Gem in the Heart of Vienna If you're a traveler with celiac disease, **Restaurant Führich** is a must-visit in Vienna. Located just steps away from the Opera and bustling city center, this place stands out not only for its cozy atmosphere and classic Austrian charm but especially for its *exceptional gluten-free options*. Führich serves **traditional Austrian cuisine** — think Wiener Schnitzel, goulash, and dumplings — but with a twist: *nearly the entire menu is available gluten-free*. And not in the usual half-hearted way many restaurants offer; here, the staff is **knowledgeable, careful, and proactive** about cross-contamination and special dietary needs. It's clear they take gluten intolerance seriously, which is a huge relief for celiacs who want to experience authentic local dishes without worry. The food itself is **solidly above average**. While it may not be haute cuisine, the flavors are honest and satisfying, and it's a rare treat to enjoy Austrian comfort food in a safe, gluten-free version. The gluten-free schnitzel, in particular, is worth a shoutout — crispy, well-seasoned, and indistinguishable from its gluten-filled counterpart. What really elevates this place, though, is the **peace of mind** it offers. For travelers with strict dietary restrictions, that’s invaluable. Add in the central location, friendly service, and thoughtful menu, and you’ve got a restaurant that deserves high praise. **Rating: 4.5/5** (4 for the food, plus half a star for their outstanding gluten handling)

Came here with high expectations but the staff were very underwhelming and almost rude. We did not make a reservation as I saw all time slots open and when we first arrived the lady at the bar greeted us with a rude no reservation sit outside. We happily did and then were moved inside. It took a long time for anyone to come check on us for drinks and by the time came we were ready to order. We ordered before the two tables next to us a big party and small party of 2. They both received their food before us and I had to ask the waiter to check on our food. We picked this place as my wife is gluten free and being our first time in Vienna we wanted her to have the experience with us. The service never did improve, I noticed a manager or owner walking around checking on other tables. We finally did get our food and it was good. Not as good as I had expected but at that point I was pretty upset with how long we had to wait for 4 Snitzels. We ate and even after had to ask for our check. If you are not about service I'd say they are okay, but need some re-training and help to ensure the customer experience is better. We left Vienna the next day and went to Grolling and had a way better experience and their sniztels were just as good if not better.

We made reservations online, but when we arrived we were told that our reservation didn’t exist. We pulled up the email and showed the hostess our reservation. She just kept pointing to her iPad saying that our reservation wasn’t there and then ignored us. We waited for her to come back and she then said the only thing she could do was seat us 2 hours from our reservation time. We were then basically shooed out of the way and back outside. She was kind of rude about it, and it left us feeling embarrassed and awkward. We’d heard good things about this place and were excited to try it. Unfortunately due to their poor customer service and flawed website, that wasn’t able to happen. Based on the interaction we had with the hostess, I don’t think we would have enjoyed it anyways!

Absolutely amazing restaurant !!

We, a 10 pers. family from Denmark, just stopped by this fantastic and cosy restaurant, in the centre of Vienna.

We were searching for a restaurant, with a gluten-free menucard, or at least, just a couple of gluten-free options. This is not always an easy task, and even when we find restaurants, that offers gluten-free options, it is actually rarely, that the options are a big "hurray". In this case, at Restaurant Führich, almost everything on the menucard, could be ordered as gluten-free, and furthermore, it was really very very delicious !!! (that's absolutely not an "of course" when you order gluten-free).

We had several different dishes (both GF & normal) and the service and kitchen was fast.

Very friendly, helpful, and smiling service - and for us, very important, they answered all of our questions about the menucard, right away.

Perfect variety of delicious menus - not to little and not to much.

Furthermore, the restaurant is just a pearl of charm, character and cosyness - lots of things, that just makes you smile... ... example, just visit the toilets :)

Our biggest recommendation, for both celiacs, and every one else.... Thank you for a big smile, and a good experience to remember and talk about.

Big love from family...
