A Perfect Spot for a Relaxing Brunch
I recently had the pleasure of brunching at SALT&honey, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service stood out immediately—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server was always nearby without hovering, ready offer recommendations with a friendly smile.
The food was impressive, with a menu that struck the right balance between comfort and creativity. I ordered the Royal Benedict, and it was delicious—well-prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each bite felt thoughtfully crafted, the only downside it is portion size a bit small from my point of view, but delicious anyway.
What really elevated the experience, though, was the ambiance. The space was cozy yet airy, with just the right volume of background noise without disrupting conversation. Whether you're catching up with a friend or enjoying a leisurely solo outing, this place invites you to settle in and stay a while.
Overall, SALT&honey nails the trifecta of great service, good food, and a relaxed environment. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come...
Read moreI had one of the most unpleasant experiences at Salt & Honey in Vienna. My friend wanted to order a cocktail around 7:30 PM on Friday, but the waitress told her they don’t make cocktails anymore because she had to leave, and her colleague “doesn’t do cocktails.” That already seemed quite strange for a restaurant of this level.
A few minutes later, we noticed that the same waitress actually stayed and continued serving food to other tables — which made the excuse even more confusing and disappointing.
When we tried to clarify the situation with another waiter, asking politely if cocktails were really unavailable, we received a very rude reply: “You’ve already asked twice and we told you we don’t do any cocktails.” It felt as if our presence was an inconvenience.
After that, no one came to check on us or ask if we wanted to order anything else. When we paid the bill, there was no “thank you” or “goodbye” — just cold silence.
It’s a shame, because the place itself is lovely and the food is good. But the service was truly unacceptable and ruined the entire experience. Sadly, I won’t be...
Read moreThis restaurant is a glorified hotel restaurant. €32 for a breakfast brunch buffet that is remarkably mundane. The menu is written by someone with culinary elegance, but not actual dining experience at this restaurant. Food quality was fine, just not anything worth going back for. The furnishings are nice, but leaning towards the hotel vibe. Our entire experience was also impacted by a massive failure with their hand held ordering device. Two of our party of four got the wrong order. One of them had been recontacted 3 times for reordering - and it was still not delivered correctly. This was not a special order just a menu item. The saving grace is the staff. They are all kind, professional and friendly. Unfortunately it appears to be poor management that is...
