From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Despite the language barrier, the staff was attentive and made every effort to ensure a delightful dining experience.
One of the standout aspects of this restaurant was the freshness and quality of the food. Every bite was a testament to the superior ingredients used in each dish. The flavors were vibrant and the attention to detail was evident. It was clear that the chefs took great pride in their culinary creations.
Beyond the culinary delights, I found myself admiring the restaurant's attention to detail in its decor. The quality of the table napkins and tablecloth was impeccable, adding an air of sophistication to the dining experience. Instead of traditional candles, the restaurant opted for the AB+ lamp by Studio Abert, a clever space-saving choice that showcased their commitment to thoughtful design. These small touches elevated the ambiance and made the dining experience all the more memorable.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion such as a date or birthday dinner. The atmosphere is perfect for an intimate and romantic evening, so dressing well is advised. Additionally, this restaurant is a great place to capture beautiful photos, as the attention to detail in the decor creates a picturesque backdrop.
In conclusion, my experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the attentive staff, every aspect of the dining experience was carefully curated. The freshness and quality of the food, along with the meticulous attention to detail in the decor, created a memorable and enjoyable evening. I would certainly return to this restaurant and encourage others to...
Read moreIt is with great reluctance that I pen this review, but my sense of responsibility to fellow diners outweighs my usual reticence.
Upon leaving the establishment, I was pervaded by an unsettling feeling of having been short-changed, both in terms of the quality and quantity of the food.
For a staggering 38 euros, one would anticipate a pasta dish with truffle to be of exceptional quality and portion size. Unfortunately, what arrived was disappointingly diminutive and ordinary, comparable to something you'd find in any run-of-the-mill Italian restaurant next door.
To add insult to injury, the 18 euro charge for a minuscule serving of watermelon, cucumber, and mozzarella bordered on farcical. The unreasonable pricing was more akin to an upscale, fine dining restaurant but sadly, the taste was far from matching those high expectations.
The total bill, not including gratuity, came up to a whopping 125 euros. The dismal reality was that we departed the restaurant with our wallets lighter, but our stomachs far from satiated. We found ourselves seeking sustenance at another eatery on our way home, a clear testament to the subpar experience.
A surprising charge of 4 euros per person was added as a 'coperto', a cover charge that I would only expect to encounter in Italy, further contributing to the inflated bill.
I have rarely felt the need to publish a review, and when I have, it has always been to commend exceptional service and food. However, I felt it incumbent upon me to share this experience, hoping to provide some guidance to potential patrons. This is not a review written out of malice, but rather a disappointment at an experience that did not meet my...
Read moreWe were in Vienna last week for a trade show and I organized a dinner for our business partners for dinner at Trattoria Martinelli. The number of guests keeps changing and they graciously accepted the change each time. When the group expanded to 7, they put us in the outdoor area in their "Imperial Igloo," and assured me that the Igloo is heated. This turns out to be such a fun adventure for our group -- we had such a laugh. Visitors walking into the beautiful courtyard where our Igloo was located were taking our pictures. The Staff serving us were super cool and professional and accommodated all of our needs. We were hungry after working all day at the show and needed our drinks and food quickly and they kept us sated. Trays of food and drinks came without a hiccup. By the time we settle down for our Main Course, the wine sommelier who so expertly decanted and served the wine gave us a MasterClass on the vineyard and the winemaking process of the Amarone Paerno Vaona 2016 that I selected. This is one of my most impressive encounter with sommeliers I had ever come across at restaurants as a food and wine lover. By the time I tasted the Amarone, I was in heaven -- this is the best Amarone I've ever tasted -- dark cherry, long finish, the wine is well structured, deep, and so well balanced.
A big thank you to everyone at Trattoria Martinellii for creating such a memorable evening for all of us. You've created a warm and welcoming environment for all of us. Hats off to the Sommelier -- you...
