We made a reservation via OpenTable for a Saturday night 9 PM reservation. Upon arrival to the restaurant we were greeted, and only had to wait a very brief moment before being sat at our table. It was an excellent table right next to the window with a view of the beautiful marina. The busser greeted us before our waiter and brought us water. It took our waiter close to 15 minutes before coming over to our table. It wasn’t overly busy in the restaurant. But in the Bahamas we have discovered over our visits, there is no sense of urgency. They truly are on island time. We ordered penne à la vodka, as well as the chicken scappolini. The bread at the table was absolutely delicious. Just beware as you will fill up quickly on it. The dishes are all served family style, and it is pricey for us a table of 2. O can see where it would be a great option for large families. The vodka dish was absolutely delicious. The sauce was so amazing, some of the best vodka sauce I’ve had. Added a few dashes of crushed red chili and it just sets it off. So so good. Definitely top-tier Italian. The chicken scappellini was good not overly flavorful, but this was the dish that my boyfriend wanted but was still good. We were so full that we skipped dessert. As I said before service was not quick, but they were very friendly and overall it was a good experience. If you are looking for a good hearty Italian meal, this is definitely a good spot. I only wish our room had a microwave, so I could’ve eaten the penne à la vodka the next day!

Delicious! Family style Italian cuisine. Pricey, but really worthy! We ate at the Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville the night before and spent more for very low quality, so the prices here are much better especially when you consider the quality and quantity. We had the Caesar salad (so flipping good!) and garlic bread for appetizers. 100% get this salad, but the garlic bread you can pass on. It’s good, but not needed with the amount of food you get. Next we had the Chicken in lemon sauce (forgot the name) and Penne in Vodka Sauce. Both were 100% delicious. We wrapped up most of the order to go since it is family style and the platters were HUGE!! We capped it off with Tiramisu. This was fine, but not as good as mine. It needed more of an espresso flavor, but not worth loosing stars. Key things to remember, family style dishes so 1-2 for the 4 adults and the salad was far more than needed. Ask for tap water. It is filtered and just fine. I’d rather spend $12 for a glass of wine than a box of water. :) Try to sit on the patio. It’s super cute and my favorite vibe! if you are staying at Atlantis, you can charge it to your room. Lastly, there is a tip added, but you should always add a bit extra for the servers, especially if they were good. Love this place and definitely will come back!

Huge family portions, we got 3 dishes. 1 steak/veggies, 1 spaghetti & 1 vodka noodles in kids portions. We split it in 2 meals. The steak and peppers were really flavorful but was overcooked, only complaint. My son had the spaghetti and said it was ok. My daughter had vodka penne because that was the only cream based sauce they had, she was craving fettuccine. She wasn't a fan of the vodka sauce. The calamari plate was huge! Some of the best calamari I've had, fresh and soft with a light crispy batter. We had to sit outside because we didn't have reservations. This wasn't an issue but the swarm of flies were. We ended up rushing to go eat back at our room. They have little fans to keep flies away from food but doesn't help much. Make reservations and dine inside the restaurant. I appreciated that they asked about allergies and honored that. Every other restaurant didn't ask and my husband had allergic reactions at every restaurant EXCEPT Carmines.

The lines are big, reservations days out, food is good, quantities are HUGE but the one thing I’ll take from this experience is how rude, cold and unwelcoming the hostess is. I spoke with her(long platinum hair, big eyelashes) on two separate days and both times it felt like she was barely able to use one word in response and that too with a bad attitude , answering while looking away. Felt like a very strict girls hostel matron! Totally puts you off! But again, that has been the general observation everywhere on our trip to paradise island. The servers are extremely disinterested in you or in any engaging/welcoming customer service. Not sure what it is but it’s very evident everywhere. The cheese ravioli and mixed salad (pics) were good but HUGE plates to share. Ordered a tiramisu which was average tasting, in a pie shape covered in a THICK layer of heavy cream. Will not return for sure!

The Atmosphere and the service were great. The food on the other hand was just average or below average. Our ceasar salad lettuce was very wet, like they did not spin off the water, dressing was not very tasty. Serving sizes are over the top, they did warn us, but the chicken parm could serve 4 and our rigatoni pomodoro could also serve 4. We got a side of sausage, which I swear are Johnsonville brats, not Italian sausage. The sauce on the chicken parm was excellent, but our rigatoni pomodoro sauce had a strong taste like it was burned. Should have sent it back. I think they would do a lot better serving individually, instead of massive plates. The couple beside us left 3/4 of a salad and meatballs and pasta behind. I got a couple glasses of wine @ $14 each, my second glass had a big chip in the bottom. Another couple near us sent their food back. I would not go back there again.

Carmines is an Italian restaurant located on Paradise Island in Atlantis. Booking a table here was extremely hard as I had to spend over an hour on the phone booking it. Once we got there we sat down at our waitress greeted us. She was very nice and polite. She was also very speedy as far putting in our in orders. We also realized the portions are massive and family style. We ordered the Penne Alla Vodka, Chicken Parmesan, Caesar salad, and shrimp scampi. The food was very good and was reasonably priced considering the portion sizes. Unfortunately, there was a metal knife on the floor and when I got up I almost slipped. Overall, the service was good but they could have done better and the food was alright. I would come here if your looking for an Italian restaurant on your vacation and have lots of people to feed. I also highly recommend ordering the Penne Alla Vodka.
