3.5 stars here. The only place in the resort that we chose to dine in twice. One of the dining options at Atlantis where a reservation is recommended and can be made from the US before you arrive. Located in the lower level of the Coral tower with a full bar at the front featuring Tiki cocktails. The “traditional” décor imagined for a Chinese restaurant. Hanging red paper lanterns, Asian focused art, black and red and dark wood fixtures. Even a large table or two with the supersized lazy susan in the middle. Large, varied menu of dishes from not just Chinese cuisine but Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Dim Sum items, Rice & Noodle dishes, Barbecue, and protein-based mains. Also, a nice list of vegetable dishes. We noticed an interesting staffing arrangement here. Unlike the waitstaff in other upscale dining options we visited, the personnel working here was almost exclusively male. Our guess is it was due to the fact that there was a lot of large trays with multiple heavy dishes coming out of the kitchen. Probably wrong.
Our fave way to enjoy meals from this type of menu is multiple small appetizer/dim sum items along with one main to share. In this case we chose to start with the Cherry Tomato and Cucumber Salad ($15). With a honey, red vinegar, and sesame oil dressing. An absolute winning dish, the sweet and tangy dressing went perfectly with the bright cherry tomatoes and the crisp cukes. Highly recommended. The listings on the dim sum section included potstickers, dumplings, spring rolls, etc. Our choices were the Pork Potstickers-panfried ($10) and the Bahamian Lobster Dumplings-steamed ($17). One thing we noticed right off was unlike the norm when we dine on these items at home was that instead of the usual six pieces, here we only received four, lessening the value even more. The potstickers were tasty with a ginger snap. But the lobster dumplings on our visit were a miss, alternating between tough and fishy in every bite. Did not enjoy these. Our choice for main course today was the Peking Beef ($40)-wok cooked with slivered onions, cilantro, and soy garlic sauce. The kitchen was kind enough to omit the cilantro due to my DW strong aversion to that flavor. This came out sizzling hot on a platter similar to one seen in Mexican restaurants serving fajitas. We really enjoyed this dish of tender beef, translucent onions, and perfectly balanced sauce. Very pricy for the quantity in our opinion but delicious none the less.
Dessert was an interesting affair. We chose the Chocolate Treasure ($10) menu listed as chocolate saboyan with peanut sauce and tonka bean. What we received was two frozen scoops of chocolate enrobed, mousse like product stacked on top of one another-bad idea, should be side by side-drizzled with a chocolate sauce with a single split strawberry and some candy discs tossed on the plate. The chocolate enrobing the dessert was studded with something, not sure what, likely some kind of nut (peanut?). Not knowing anything about tonka beans I did a bit of research and discovered they are illegal in the US! A compound within them is deemed toxic in high quantities by the FDA. Seems they are used as a spice mainly and I have zero idea where it fit in with this concoction. Good chocolate flavor all around but sure didn’t seem to fit the menu description. On our second visit we chose to forego dessert and substitute the lobster dumpling with the Crispy Prawn Dumpling ($13) served with a sweet chili sauce. This was much more to our liking and the crispy fried prawn inside the delicate dumpling wrapper was a tasty combination, especially when the sweet chili sauce was added. All other dishes the same as the first visit. We felt much more like we almost got our money’s worth here but be aware when the mandatory 15% gratuity and the 10% VAT were added to the bill it was over $115 each night. Also, one caution. This seems to be a popular spot for large family parties and couples with kids. It can be quite loud in the dining area. We ate here twice so the dining here is enjoyable with the...
Read moreStay away. They recently made changes to the menu, and it is not Chinese food and is possibly the worst dining experience in the Atlantis complex.
Oddly enough, we ate at Chopstix several times in the last few years, and the experience and the food was quite good, with authentic flavors and good service.
Unfortunately, they recently changed the way they cooked and it can be best described as bland, tasteless, and poorly cooked. Example photos below, but we ordered the shrimp wonton soup with noodles (20 dollars), and the soup tasted like hot water with an assortment of undercooked noodles, mushrooms, and four pieces of frozen wonton. Next, we tried the crispy fried pork dish (32 dollars), which is typically made with strips of pork meat, but it turned out to be DEEP FRIED ground pork, with a stringy and gamey flavor with overdone sweetness. We also ordered the Eggplant vegetable dish (28 dollars) and it was over battered, unseasoned, hunks of French fried eggplant bits with a side of ketchup based sauce. Horrible. We ordered the Singapore style Steak (58 dollars btw), and the presentation had potential set in a sizzling plate, but the steak was chewy and overdone, completely unseasoned, and poorly integrated into the dish. And to top it off, we also had stir fried bok choy, which may be the easiest dish to execute, and it came back a boiled pile of stale soggy flaccid greens that turned nearly yellow because of the boiling the cooks implemented. Also zero seasoning or flavor. Just a buffet of poorly cooked, unseasoned, amateurly executed dishes which make even Panda Express taste gourmet. We sent back many of the dishes and spent most of the time eating the white rice on the table.
We had shared the feedback to the manager on duty, and it is clear he was just as equally poorly trained and not helpful. The meal originally was nearly 300 dollars, and the manager on duty did discount the meal, but we still ended up paying 150 dollars, where we really only ate 50 dollars worth of food. Just unbelievable.
We had heard that the menu and the cooking was recently changed by a new VP or GM - my suggestion - fire the guy for ruining what used to be a decent meal. It's not difficult to ruin Chinese or Asian food, but new management has done the nearly impossible.
Do not go. Stay away. Don't...

On December 9th our group of 3 came to Chopstix in Atlantis. The reservation was made way ahead of time, it was my Friend's Husband birthday and we wanted everything to run smoothly, it didn't. Despite us showing up on time, we were told we need to wait for our table since they are experiencing a bit of a backlog. We were instructed to wait outside of the main dining area, place that had a small bar, since we didn't want to have any drinks yet, we just waited around, for 40 minutes... Maybe we should of leave at that point, but we were promised the table is coming every 10 minute or so and we couldn't really get a last minute reservation anywhere else. Finally we got to our table, another 45 minutes passed by, barely a water on a table and a menu, another 15 minutes trying to flag down a waiter to place and order, now waiting for food... At that point we were getting hungry and frustrated. Since this was a birthday dinner we have asked for a cable with desert and this place actually does a nice birthday performance, the reason why we decide to come in a first place. The performance was nice, it negated the long wait and subpar food... So I decided, odd night's happen, we shouldnt hold it against this restaurant. I picked up a tab, since it was my treat for my friend's birthday. Now generally the way things work with dining - you book a table, you eat, you pay, you move on, right ? Wrong! I have paid on December 9th, 2021, than May 22, 2020, when Bahamas was already a faint and distant memory, I was charged for the same dinner again! But "good people" of Chopstix decided not to stop there, 9 moths later in August 2022, my card was charged for the 3d time for the dinner I had ones upon a time. I have never been in such a ridiculous situation before, I am not sure why this restaurant decided that they can charge my card whenever the mood strikes them, beware of this place! They have truly made my trip...
