Tropicana Bar — Restaurant in New Providence

Food is microwaved and not good. Ordered mozzarella sticks and fish fingers. Both were microwaved. While the mozzarella is edible microwaved, it was far from tasty. The fish fingers went bad somewhere in the process or it was cooked earlier in the day then microwaved because it had a bad after taste. One of the people in my party ordered red snapper, which also seemed to be precooked earlier in the day then microwaved, found it to be overcooked with no flavor. One star is generous, considering the alleged policy that once you touch the food you have to pay for it, despite it being awful. Would love to give this place zero stars. I don't have super high expectations of restaurants in highly touristy areas, but this was far below expectations. Food was TERRIBLE. All sandwiches served on white bread (not rolls as advertised) and my husband's club had 1 piece of turkey which was warm and smelled funny (not edible) and a piece of Kraft singles cheese. Burger was clearly frozen patty in large part soy or some non meat product. By some miracle none of us got sick. Also, the service was terrible and as soon as we sat down they started blaring Bob Marley so loudly we couldn't even talk to the people on either side. Oh and it was filthy.

In short, there is no reason you would want to subject yourself...

Came to this place for dinner and the food we ordered was nothing we ever expected. We are from Peru and we ordered a typical plate of Lomo saltado and seco de res with frijoles and it was absolutely horrible. The meat given with the Lomo was first cold and not even 5 pieces of meat and second, it was covered with tons of fries, onions and tomatoes this meal did not have any kind of taste of Peruvian season. Our other meal of the seco de res with frijoles was even worse ..the meat was shredded and frijoles were with no taste at all of a Peruvian dish...truly disappointed and would not recommend to anyone that enjoys Peruvian food absolutely does not meet...
