I’ve been to Señor Frogs several times and never experienced anything like this. We were celebrating a bachelorette party with a group of 10. A staff member—the one who walks around giving shots and hyping people up—approached us and said if we gave him $100 cash (or tipped him whatever we wanted), he’d take care of our entire bill because he was “the manager” and would make sure we were taken care of.
Our friends from the cruise joined us later, and he told them the same thing. So we all trusted him and continued enjoying the day.
When the bill came, it was a flat $1,000—way more than expected. We looked at the charges and realized half the items weren’t even what we ordered. When we brought it up to the party guy, he completely denied ever saying he’d cover anything. Total gaslight moment.
We told the waitress, who acted surprised, but it honestly felt like an inside scam between her and the party guy. We asked to speak to the manager, who seemed confused and totally thrown off. Another manager eventually gave us 20% off.
But it’s not about the discount—it’s about the scam. They took advantage of a big group celebrating something special, and that’s not OK.
In the end, we paid half the bill. Gratuity was already included, but one of our girls, not knowing, gave another $100 in cash as a tip because she felt bad.
Scam, scam, scam. Check your bill. Don’t fall for the “I’ll take care of it if you tip me” trick. Be careful if you’re celebrating anything here—they see big groups as...
Read moreMe and my husband decided to eat here after we saw how good of a review it had. Worse decision we could’ve made. My husband is allergic to any kind of shellfish. When we sat down we told the waitress and specified that he’s allergic so to please not mix anything in the kitchen because even with cross contamination he gets a bad reaction. The waitress told us that no, the burrito bowl that we ordered has no shellfish but that she “would let the staff know”. We finished paid and went to walk around, 20 minutes later after eating the food my husband starts getting hives. I give him two Benadryls to down the effect. Soon after I have to take him to emergency care because he wasn’t able to breathe and the hives was all over his face and body all swollen. He’s now in the hospital for a couple of days getting treated. It’s one thing if we don’t say anything and it’s another if I make sure to let the waitress know and specify how important it is to not mix the food because of the allergies. I’m very disappointed with how little care they have for their customers. I’ve gone to many restaurants and always told the waiters about the allergies and not once have I had a problem where his life could’ve been at risk. He couldn’t breathe and the ambulance was called. This is...
Read moreDear Senor Frog management,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding a recent visit to your establishment on December 17th, 2024.
During our visit, we encountered several issues that left us feeling disrespected and undervalued as customers. One of your waitresses, Nyoka, displayed a lack of professionalism and courtesy, which detracted from our dining experience.
Additionally, we were disturbed by the actions of Raquel, the hostess. She insisted that a group of African American patrons, including us, move from our table under the pretense that we could not have the tables arranged as we wished.
However, shortly after, a Caucasian group was seated in the same setup that we were told was not permitted. This apparent inconsistency and perceived discrimination were deeply troubling.
These experiences have left us African Americans feeling unwelcome, and as a result, we have chosen not to support your business in the future and to make people aware of this. It is our hope that you will take our feedback seriously and address these issues to ensure that all customers are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, A very disappointed...
