Barouche Place St Catherine — Restaurant in Brussels

The staff are very friendly and the place looks fancy and hip; BUT the whole experience is highly overpriced compared to what you get. We ordered a chicken pita for 12.95 euros (!!!), a steak pita for 13.95 euros (!!!) and fries for 4.95. We had to use a magnifier to find the meat in these pitas! Only vegetables and bread! No meat at all!! and for that price?!!! You can go to rue de pita near grand place and get a much better pita for a much cheaper price. And the potatoes for 4.95 were over cooked and dry, and the portion was literally minute. For 37 euros I could get a much better food with better quality ( L'Express just behind grand place for example with 6 euro sandwiches). There is nothing special about the place or the food that could explain the difference in price. No...

We went to this restaurant whilst on a day trip in Brussels. We were a group of six (vegetarian and vegan) trying to find a restaurant that would be healthy, suit our budgets, have something for everyone's dietary requirements and be filling was a little difficult, however, we asked someone nearby for a recommendation to meet the above requirements and they took us here. We were a group of both males and females of different ages and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, portion sizes, nutrition, presentation and the price. The male and female staff were also very welcoming and kind. We were so happy with the food that we wanted to know if they had a branch in the UK but unfortunately they haven't. If we ever visit Brussels again we will definitely return to this...

The food is really good! However, we were very disappointed by the person who served us behind the counter. From what we understood, he’s the manager, tall and blond called Sander. We kept waiting for him to take our order, when he finally did we see him coughing in his hands and touching the food with his bare hands. He did not wash his hands or wear gloves even after we saw him coughing continuously in his hands. We were already disappointed, but to top it off the manager reprimanded an employee loudly in front of everyone. It made me very uncomfortable as a client, so I can’t imagine this employee. Overall, even if the food is really good it made me question the hygiene behind the counter… not sure if...
