Although I wrote this on April the 1st I can assure you this is no joke!

If you like awful service, terrible coffee and toilets that you can catch things from then this is the place for you!

We had 2 "long" coffee, 2 cinnamon buns for 15 EURO!!!!! The coffee wins the title of the worst choice I've ever had, and this is from someone who has drank British army coffee on numerous occasions, think a teaspoon of mud in hot water and you're about there - not even sugar made this drinkable.

The service is even more dire than usual Brussels "hospitality" with the hipster bro throwing our coffees down - you have to collect the cakes but not the coffees.... Bizarre. Anyway, he then proceeded to completely berate the couple behind us for dareing to order a "normal coffee" because apparently they have such a huge selection it was impossible for him to decipher what they meant by normal and they should be "more clear in the future"

The toilets are both a bio hazard and a safety hazard in one hit with no light down the stairs to them, overflowing bins and out of order parts including the catch me if you can toilet seat that I think is held on with hopes and prayers....

All in all, not the capital of cafes, there are better elsewhere for less.

We recently visited Café Capitale in Brussels and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of their croissants and coffee latte. The croissants were flaky, buttery, and had a lovely crunch when bitten into. They were served warm, which added to their deliciousness.

The coffee latte was also excellent, with a rich and creamy texture and a perfectly balanced coffee flavor. The barista was skilled in latte art, which added a nice touch to the presentation.

The atmosphere of the cafe was cozy and welcoming, with comfortable seating and a relaxed ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

Overall, I would highly recommend Café Capitale to anyone looking for a great coffee and pastry experience in Brussels. The croissants and coffee latte were delicious, and the atmosphere and service made for a truly enjoyable visit. I look forward to returning...

I used to come here from time to time for the last few years, and even though they have more and more success, their service and quality is unfortunately going down. This time I ordered a double espresso, placed my order and went to sit down. Arriving at an empty seat, a couple of cups and dishes from the previous client were still on the table, didn't mind as it was very busy. On the seat there were a few crumbs (again no big deal), while trying to push them off with my hand, a cloud of embedded dust came out of the seat... It seems like the seat has not been cleaned for a veeery long time... Maybe 5 to 10min later, received my coffee but the server did not bother picking up the dirty dishes on the table.... Okay fine, let's try the coffee... The espresso was way too sour, this is clearly a sign of improperly dialed in espresso.... Did not enjoy it at all...

Fantastic spot for a great coffee just off grand place in Brussels. Uber cool with a real sense of self, this coffee shop, while a mix of modern and shabby chic, was a pleasure to visit. The coffees were more than decent and a good selection of pastries and cakes. Toilets, downstairs were clean and stylish. Staff were excellent and aware. Loved it.
