The lady at the counter was extremely disrespectful and she made sure to show it. I simply arrived and waited my turn as another costumer was at the counter before me. As soon as the costumer left and I come up to her, she started acting busy, I waited for a minute and then she just stared at me as if I’m disturbing her, no hello, no hi, no how can I help you or anything, just staring at me with a (what do you want) look, as I was about to speak, she started walking around acting busy again, I asked her where the drinks menu was to which she stopped dead in her tracks side eyes me for a solid 5 second and finally says “on the big wall” and looks at the wall behind me above the entrance 🫠 she looked as if she has never seen someone so stupid while the thing she thinks is so clear and cannot be missed is only clear if you turn around and look above the ENTRANCE! I asked her for a Cappuccino and of course she continued with the same revolting attitude. I’m not sure what this server thinks this job entails if she’s bothered by having to interact with and (HELP) costumers. I could see her smile ear to ear with the costumer before me, and she was polite too, so I’m guessing she’s out here picking and choosing which clients get to be treated well, and which get to deal with her expired personality. The place is good overall with a great vibe despite the tight...

Bar service........ could be better- just adding for the owner. It was a sunny day, was sitting in the outside terrace. Went inside to get my drinks as there is no table service. I am at the bar. Two people are teaching a new girl how to make a cappuccino. 3rd girl is emptying the dish washer...I am standing there try to make eye contact to get served. She keeps on putting the glasses away until I ask her ....sorry can I order? She looks at me startled like I offended her and says...sure. I mean...the terrace is full. There is just me there and I have to ask to get served....you gotta get your priorities right as putting the glasses can wait...in case you ask..there were glasses available...

Excellent place to stop by for a drink or snack. Plenty of outdoor tables and seats. There's a small children's playground outside with a slide so you'll have plenty of families and kids around.

You order by scanning a QR code on the table and you pay through the website. They will bring you your order directly to your table. This is fantastic and really makes it a pleasant experience to not have to ask for a check.

Also cool thing I noticed on the menu...you can order a "delayed coffee" or a "delayed cappuccino" which is you pay for a coffee for someone else who really needs it. Although I'm not sure how they actually give those...

De Markten, located on the square next to Sainte-Catherine, is a classic spot for brunch, perfect for a break while exploring the vintage stores in the area. The coffee is excellent, and they serve good wine too. I highly recommend pairing your wine with their deep-filled pepper dish—it’s simply the best! Portions are generous, so come hungry. The café is cash-free, cooperative, and self-service—you place your order directly from the table. (The first time we visited, we waited 20 minutes for a server before realizing this!) A must-visit if you're in the area.

It’s a unique place where you get to chill and order online with good food and large tables. I had the carrot cake several times now (sometimes with nuts, sometimes without) and it’s always kept its original quality, which is something much appreciated! It is a bit pricey, but as I’m often accompanied by friends and our laptops, it’s also perfect for studying while eating or drinking. Can only recommend!
