Walked in and waited to order. A worker came over. I said good evening, I would like to order take away some simple ramen with chicken please. Do you have suggestions? The guy without looking at me handed me the menu and said: here’s the menu! I asked him again just want some simple ramen with chicken, do you have some suggestions? The guy pointed arrogantly to the 2 lines on the page and said here’s the chicken! After I’ve paid my order of 26,20 euros. He told I could wait outside, so I did. When my order was done he came in front of the glass door and waved, he literally had the order in his hands! Plus I already had payed. Couldn’t he just open the door and give it to me? There were almost no clients inside. I’m appalled by the lousy service. Umamido might has well just hang a tablet at reception where clients can order. Instead of trying to save money by hiring students because of low taxes, that don’t care about their job nor the business nor the clients that support it. The food was great by the way. This brightly well decorated ramen restaurant is a nice place to have an easy going meal with friends or even perfectly by yourself. The service was excellent. I came in with tones of curiosity and questions and the waitress was genuinely happy to answer my questions, checked in with me and was very approachable. Even the people behind the kitchen for the small moments I observed them and made I contact, they had a positive energy. They make other dishes other than ramen, such as some rice dishes and maki’s. I ordered the ‘Fried Chicken Rice Bowl’ which I was hesitant about because I often find the rice for these dishes too soggy. It was “okay” sogginess wise, but flavor wise quite good. I do feel like there was something missing food wise for them to get a 5 star food rating. I feel like the food doesn’t necessarily stand out or is unique, for a better wording. Horrendous service. When we arrived, we had to initiate the greeting ourselves as the person behind the bar just stared at us without even saying hello. Then we were met by a very rude waitress who marched up and, without any greeting, barked at us: “Get out, you need to put the umbrellas outside, you’re bringing water inside!”

We explained that we just wanted to sit in the corner and order takeaway (since we weren’t about to leave our personal belongings out on the street). In our view, it’s the restaurant’s job to provide an allocated place for umbrellas or at least offer to take them behind the bar. Instead, she just kept rushing us, insisting we leave them outside. At that point, we decided to walk out and never return.
