We were advised to go to this restaurant by a local friend. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We were brought to our table by an older female waitress who straight away made us feel unwelcome (did not smile or interact). When she came to take our order and I asked what she would recommend and she replied “you are clearly not ready to order” and so went away without helping us. We felt like we couldn’t ask for anything during our meal (like an additional plate) and she never checked on us. Towards the end of our meal another group paid and were leaving. One woman accidentally knocked a fork onto the floor and didn’t realise and so walked away (unintentionally). This waitress expressed great visible frustration (shouting, gesticulating) and picked up the fork and threw it on the table so hard that it bounced off into the customer as she walked away. At this point we felt so uncomfortable that we tried to get the bill to leave (we had planned to have dessert but decided we wanted to get out of the situation). However our waitress would not come to us. We waited about 20-30 minutes and eventually got a different waiter to help us. Overall we felt belittled, uncomfortable and a bit intimidated. This waitress was probably having a bad day and I understand that. However this is unacceptable behaviour from anyone. In addition we were a bit disappointed in the food. The meat was cooked well but lacked flavour, as did the sauces. The baked potatoes however...
Read moreThis restaurant fails to represent anything authentic when it comes to local Bosnian cuisine. Despite being advertised as a place serving traditional food, what we were offered was far from it. The main dish available was schnitzel paired with something they called “pomfrit,” which was neither local nor particularly well-prepared. The side dish consisted of cold, plainly boiled potatoes—completely uninspired and served with no attention to presentation or flavor.
The service was equally disappointing. The waiter was curt and unwelcoming, responding to questions in a dismissive and terse manner. Courses arrived at inconsistent intervals, with the soup being served at completely different times for each person. One member of our group waited over 30 minutes for a very simple meal, while the rest of us had already finished eating.
We inquired about several classic Bosnian dishes, and to our surprise, none were available. This was especially frustrating, given that the restaurant promotes itself as a destination for local cuisine. Overall, it felt more like a tourist trap than a genuine culinary experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Bosnia—or even just decent service. There are far better options in the area offering both hospitality and real...
Read moreWent here on a recommendation, which was a huge mistake. Started out with some pretty good wine and cheese though, which made us believe that the main course would be at least decent, spoiler alert: it wasn't.
I ordered the vegetable pasta which was the worst dish I have ever had in a restaurant. To describe the pasta as overcooked would be an insult to overcooked pasta. It just fell apart, and the vegetables were no better. Everything was so bland, no salt, garlic, pepper, anything.
My friend ordered the cheese pasta which was no better. Same overcooked, bland, pasta that was swimming in it's own pasta water, like a really pale water soup. And similarly to the veggie pasta, the salt and pepper missed the train here. The fact that it was served in a traditional plate with at domed lid made it even worse.
I really hate wasting food and really try to finish what I get, but this I just couldn't eat. Just go and buy a burek instead, five times as cheap and...
