Jiquitaia Restaurant, São Paulo * We were looking for place to have a lunch and found this on google map and decided to go there since it was the nearest to where we were and also near our hotel. Only to realised that it was Michelin Listed Restaurant.

Let’s put the food aside first, their service was impeccable. Even though we arrived at 2pm (they closed at 3pm) with 13 person unannounced, they went out of their way to accommodate us. We only finished our late lunch at 4pm (due to wait for table and huge group number). There was no one word of complaint. Even the owner chef was out there smiling and chit chat with us.

They serve a typical homemade Brazilian cuisine prepared with quality ingredients. Their location is also very homely and warm.

Almost all the dishes we orders I liked. Especially the okra with miso paste, pork crackling. Pity we had no more room for dessert.

We had such a good meal that we wanted to go back for another meal before we left São Paulo but our tight schedule meant we did not managed to do so. It was a great disappointment.

If you are ever in São Paulo this is a must visit restaurant. Please call in advance to make reservations, don’t be like us!

Wow, what an incredible meal! When you stumble upon this unassuming little door in the heart of Paraíso, you never expect the hidden gem that awaits inside. The Brazilian cuisine here is an exquisite blend of flavors and vibrant colors, presented in the most sophisticated manner. It's fascinating to think that a former president once occupied the very table where we sat just last week. In that moment, I felt like a distinguished official or even a celebrity, receiving the undivided attention of our waiter, Julio.

We indulged in classic dishes such as moquecas, bife de chorizo, and quiabada. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a refreshing glass of rosé wine, and to our surprise, we were treated to a complimentary and intriguing drink called Pi-tanga, an exclusivity of the house. For dessert, we savored the combination of goiabada and Canastra cheese. Even the coffee served was exceptional, filling the room with its enticing aromas.

The decor of the place was impeccable, reflecting a tasteful, sophisticated, and clean aesthetic. It was truly an unbelievable lunch experience, leaving a lasting impression on...

Had lunch with 2 friends this week and the food continues to be amazing and a great experience to try Brazilian traditional dishes. I used to love to get a drink and seat at the bar at the previous location, which used to be just perfect but in this location it seems to be impossible as the noise in the 2nd room, which was the one we sat, was pretty unbearable, to the point we need to shout to get heard across your own table. Also, I have a plant based diet and it is pretty disappointing to have only 1 option (quiabada) considering how other ingredients have been used to other dishes. To be fair, my friends loved their food (something with pork and another one with a steak) but definitely the lack of plant based options and the noise will not encourage to visit...
