Cravings Bistro — Restaurant in Calgary

The service has been generally good, but unfortunately, the food has not. Visit 1 - The panini was fine. We ordered 2 desserts for 3 people and all 3 of us were disappointed. They looked great in the showcase, but the taste & substance was "meh". Visit 2 - There were bags of "Holiday Sweet Treats" available for purchase this past Christmas season. I purchased their "Assorted Christmas Cookies" as a gift. I was not able to gift the cookies as intended and eagerly looked forward to trying them myself. When I did, I was so relieved that I had not given them away because they were stale. Visit 3 - YYC Hot Chocolate Fest - Their description & photo on the festival website said the deconstructed hot chocolate came with "caramelized banana" and "deep-fried rum raisin ice cream". Neither came with the drink and they were replaced with a small coconut macaroon. Highly disappointing, especially since their staff did not mention the changes either when I was looking to purchase. The hot chocolate itself was sickly sweet. "pineapple" - where? "banana & pineapple infused whip cream" - could not discern those flavours in the whip, on its own or with the hot chocolate. Maybe the toasted coconut sprinkled on top negated the other flavours? 3 strikes. I will not be back, nor will I recommend...

We returned to this restaurant yesterday because our first visit in February 2023 was exceptional. Unfortunately, our experience this time was quite different. The pizza we ordered, which was the main reason we came back, looked and tasted completely different.

At first, I was too shy to ask, but before leaving, I gathered the courage to ask the lady at the counter if there was a new chef. She confirmed that there was, and then asked if the food was better. I explained that it wasn’t the same as our first visit. To my surprise, she told me that I should have mentioned that I liked the pizza with mozzarella balls, which was what I had enjoyed during our first visit.

I was quite disappointed by her response, as I wasn’t aware I needed to specify this detail. How could I have known it was important? I simply expected the same great experience we had before. Unfortunately, this pizza tasted more like fast food — a bit salty and nowhere near as enjoyable as our first visit. Needless to say, we won't be...

I recently had the pleasure of being at this bistro, and I must say, the experience was delightful. The standout aspects were undoubtedly the excellent service provided by Bruna and the manager Fernanda. Their attentiveness and warmth made us feel truly welcomed.

The food was exceptional, with a diverse menu that showcased both creativity and quality. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
