MASITA Korean Food — Restaurant in Halifax

This might just be our favorite food stall on the Halifax Boardwalk! The lady working there was so incredibly kind and welcoming, always smiling, and we loved the little dinosaur torch she used—it added so much charm.

We went with the skewers: I got the pork, which was juicy, flavourful, and cooked perfectly. My wife got the shrimp, and she loved it so much she actually went back for it later in the trip! Both were seasoned beautifully, with the right spices and amazing texture. We’d love to come back and try more appealing menu items.

With all respect to this place, I have to say that it has gone downhill in recent years. I bought my favorite chicken skewer and it was much smaller than it used to be. Just check out the picture of the same chicken skewer one year ago and today. You can see how much it shrinked in size- there was almost no meat, mostly crunchy breading. While I like it crunchy, this is too much and leaves a greasy, dry taste in your mouth. And there was almost no sauce - a few drops on the cardboard doesn't count. I think for such a price it is not necessary to skimp on the products.

A surprisingly good Korean spot on the waterfront area. Owned and operated by Koreans so it’s gonna be pretty authentic.

Wife got the combo bowl which was really good. The japchae was very tasty and this hit the spot for some asian food cravings.

Service was awesome. Perso. Helping us out took the time to explain a few items we had questions on even with a line up starting to creep up behind us.
