The Auction House is an annual stop for our family when headed to Neptune during the holidays, and we’ve always had enjoyable meals. Our latest visit left us underwhelmed. Servers were friendly and helpful when we flagged them down, but had to flag down anyone we could for cutlery after all meals were delivered with not so much as a napkin on the table. We ended up paying with the bartender when nobody returned to our table with the check. And if you’re going to seat people in the front window in December, someone needs to turn the thermostat up. But the real disappointment was my main…”Bangers”. I realize this is their take on a pub classic, but for $21 I was hoping for more than two sausages on a small serving of roasted potatoes, and a small serving of onions on top. A vegetable or side salad would have at least made this feel like a main dish. Photo is exactly how it was served, would barely fill a side plate. Classic pub fat doesn’t need to be pretty, but it should at least be comforting, and filling. This was neither. Overall, a real let down from previous visits.

Went for a supper and drinks night out with my gf class after a long week of studying. Everyone ordered food and drinks. Drinks took awhile to get which we didn't really have a problem with (except the drinks is what everyone really wanted). Food all came out except mine .. ten minutes go by and waitress hadn't checked on us so one of the ppl at the table went to ask. The order had been completely missed. By the time I got my fish and chips ( I was so hungry I didn't take a picture) it was very hot and fresh and delicious. The French fries are a must have as they are amazing. The deep fried Oreo for dessert is absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend you trying it even if it sounds odd to you. When the bill came I assumed my food would either be taken off or discounted for waiting almost 20 minutes and finishing eating after everyone but nothing at all taken off. The waitress was very apologetic and seemed to genuinely feel bad but personally I expected more.

Our group of six had a reservation, before a concert at scotiabank center. Server was good, changed our table for us since we were initially seated next to the band who was setting up. We wanted a quieter spot. It was busy with concert goers but service speed was fine. Food was terrible. I asked to swap the fish for a flank steak and this was accommodated. The dish was halibut (now steak) with roasted veg, potatos, and chimichurri sauce. The steak was over cooked and tough. I had no chimichurri sauce. The potatos were fine, nothing special but the veg was raw! It was broccolini, carrot and cauliflower. They must have cooked it just until the broccolini was cooked because that was the only cooked veg. Other members of our party had the goat cheese pistachio burger, this was delicious. The regular burger was deemed tasteless. The fish and chips was well overcooked. I did tell my server about the undercooked veg and he offered to bring me new but I didn't have time due to the concert. Our bill was full of errors. We were charged for our friend's appetizer, and another dish was deemed for the table and we all paid for some. When I have ordered an appie to share the server has always asked me how I want that charged. He did not ask. So we paid over $20 for food we didn't order or eat. Again, he offered to redo all the bills but this meant refunding and paying again, and we had no time. Biggest problem...

I have been here twice. Neither time was I impressed or even satisfied with the food. My second experience was horrible. I went there with a Batchelor party, we had reservations at 7pm for 20 people. We showed up at 7:02pm with 21 people. They were not prepared for us at all. They had a group of tables set aside for us but had to bring over additional table and chairs to seat us all. At least 5 of our party didn't have a place when we arrived. Our waiter did the best he could, but he was the only one taking our orderes. One waiter for twenty-one people... It took an hour of waiting before they even took our food order. Our man of honor made a comment about the service to one of the staff and she blew him off with a "meh", a shrug and walked away. This infuriated him as it should have, that is no way to treat a customer. He made the mistake of calling her an unflattering name and was kicked out by the bouncer. Just as our food arrived. Our group left promptly, and I will never be eating there again, not because they kicked my friend out, but because they were not prepared for a reservation of our size when it was made weeks in advance. Also because I have never been so underwhelmed by quality of...
