LE COMPTOIR — Restaurant in Mont-Tremblant

Le Comtoir is a pleasant dining experience in a fantastic hotel. However, it is important to note the three very different dining experiences this restaurant offers. I’ve dined at Le Comtoir dozens of times and have enjoyed all types of dining.

Breakfast is available daily via buffet or a la carte (depends on time of year). The a la carte menu is basic but perfect for this restaurant and will please all patrons. The buffet features a variety of options, from pastries to hot foods to a continental selection to a parfait bar. I always enjoy my breakfast at this restaurant.

A la carte dining is available for dinner only certain times of the year. During my visits in February, the restaurant features a la carte while Christmas time it is a buffet. The a la carte menu is very nice, the food is quite good and service is always friendly. The timing can be a bit slow, but aside from this the a la carte dining experience is great.

Dinner buffets, when available, are hit-or-miss. The price is often very high, which leads to low value depending on the buffet offerings. I’ve had times where the buffet items are fresh and delicious, but other times they’ve been culinarily mediocre and sitting in steam tables for far too long. The buffet also is inconsistent in variety, with some nights having many different types of options while other nights the options are more limited. For both buffet and a la carte dinner, the service is very friendly but drinks often take a bit long.

Le Comtoir is a frequent stop on my trips to Tremblant, and I am always satisfied. I would recommend avoiding dinner buffets if possible, but a la carte dining is very nice and suiting...

It is an honest shame that I am not able to put half a star on this abomination of a restaurant. I went there Sunday, may 13th, for mother's day, and I have never been so disgusted with food in my entire life. EVERYTHING on the buffet line, was absolutely disgusting. From the "fresh" fruits, to the stale/rock hard pastries. All of everything that was considered breakfast, was cold and the scrambled eggs, that can be made by amputee monkeys, were the worst attempt at eggs I've ever seen. The only semi decent thing about this restaurant, was the bacon, and that's only because I like it mildly undercooked. I could deal with horrible food, I have before, but the bill at the end was too big a pill to swallow without passing my words to management, the bill for 4 people, came out to 325$, which made me absolutely livid. I then decided to kindly walk out of the restaurant and go to the front desk, then as for the manager of the restaurant. I was then greeted by the highly unprofessional Jarome, who did the best he could to not laugh at me while I kindly spoke I'll of the restaurant. Only after I was finished, did he say that it was impossible the food was that bad, and that if it was, I should have told him while I was eating, that I didn't like it, so he could have made me something fresh... I decided to leave it at that, and walk away , im not the type of person to ask for a discount or to not pay the bill, but I will make sure that everyone I know and that everyone who sees this NEVER goes here, especially for any occasion or holiday, as it will be ruined. Warning everyone,this restaurant is in a crisis!!!We stayed at the Fairmont Tremblant,which is usually ok.We had a party of 5 hungry teenagers,and 2 adults after a day on the slopes,and dinner took 2 hrs to be served.The riccotta ravioli was flavourless, dried out and freezer burnt,without enough sauce.Three orders of that,none eaten.The Caesar salad resembled no Caesar salad any of us had ever seen or eaten,and was bitter and flavourless,yellowed lettuce.Really ,really awful.Veal rolls were baked in an oven for 15 mins with raw tomato pasata poured over them,very low quality cubes of mozzarella barely melted,sauce was completely flavourless and tasted like raw canned tomatoes.Embarrassingly bad.Waitress was pleasant but inattentive,and did nothing when we politely expressed concern about how bad the food was.I was charged $600.00 for this atrocious mess of a dinner.I formally complained at the front desk,to avoid a scene at the restaurant,which was busy and not functioning well.I was given nothing by the Fairmont in the form of an apology or a discount.If this food was served at any other Fairmont restaurant,it would be a citywide scandal.Steer well clear of “le comptoir” ,they only seem to be interested in overcharging horrendously, for inedible garbage.This restaurant needs to redo its menu ,and get a new chef immediately.This restaurant is not even close to the high standard Fairmont Hotels claim...
