The biggest let down from a customer appreciation / service perspective I've experienced so far. I chose this restaraunt as the place to celebrate the surprise proposal I was doing while visiting Montreal with my now Fiancé. To anyone that is celebrating a proposal, you will know how much the whole day/weekend will mean to you. You want to make every second memorable for your partner. Unfortunatly this restaurant was the biggest let down and clearly do not appreciate potential customers who would like this celebration to include their business as part of their plans. I reserved a table online a week in advance, leaving notes with my reservation booking to ask about someone contacting me to see if we could arrange something special for the evening. 2 days passed and I still had not hear anything from them. I then tried to call multiple times and even left voicemails asking for a call back and still did not hear anything. I then sent a message to them again on Touch Bistro booking system, still nothing. I even sent them a private message on their Instagram and not a word. Do not waste your time with this place if you are looking to make a special memory or celebrate something, they clearly do not care about their customers. Instead I booked us in at Gibby's Steak house which was AMAZING. They truly showed us a good time, and also brought out a wonderful dessert to congratulate us on the engagement. Such a disappointment 1/10 ------------------------------------------- Had to repost this review, with the attached reply from the restaurant. 1) I am entitled to constructively share feedback on my experience 2) I don't tend to propose every week so was hoping to speak with someone about ideas (Which seemed to be absolutely fine with the other restaurant which was exceptional) 3) I proposed in the day and this was the celebratory meal in the evening :) 4) At no point did I even ask for any free handouts and happy to also share the messages I wrote on here if needs be. 5) Your reputation can change if people are disatisified 6) Sending me a bill for what? Enjoy that one Most importantly - Your response is so immature and unprofessional and really just demonstrates the way you think of your customers. Using sentences like "Hope you're not so lazy with your future wife or are you just another one of those entitled little brats" really shines a good light on your attitude to working with people. SO HAPPY I never had to pay a dime towards your business when there are some SUPERB places out there in the beautuful city of Montreal.

We went to Salumi Vino after reading all the great reviews on Trip Advisor actually. They weren't wrong! I had the Pollo Toscana and the boyfriend had the Pappardelle con Manzo. They are both pictured and were both DELICIOUS. Serving sizes that will make you full and as someone who doesn't like pasta (it's a texture thing don't ask), I still tried the sauce of the Pappardelle con Manzo and it was great! We were also served bread with olive oil + balsamic vinegar just for breathing and being hungry I suppose. The restaurant is quite small and you can see the Chefs doing their thang from your table which I thought was very cool. There is also a patio option but we wanted to be in the action. Our waiter was wonderful and sorry if you're reading this I can't remember your name but the staff were great. On top of a great meal, the bottles of wine are such a good deal that if two of you are going to have a glass, you might as well go get the whole thing. If I lived in Montreal this would be a regular spot for sure!

I came to this restaurant over the weekend as I heard it was authentic Italian. Well boy let me tell you.. this was the best authentic Italian I had in a long time. I had a bottle of white wine which was amazing, which had me telling our server this was the second best Italian which I meant the first. (It was their amazing white wine which mixed me up). I also had the best espresso martini in all of Montreal… no word of a lie, heart and soul was put into this martini. I travel a lot, drink espresso martinis on the regular, had Italian grandparents and I can say this is the most authentic you are going to find in Montreal. Amazing service, amazing food and amazing drinks. Thank you so much for making our experience the best. Will recommend this restaurant to anyone in Montreal who wants a good eat and good service!! I also thank the server for wishing me luck on my exam. Very personable, very professional and some of the best service I had in while. Thank you so much again, amazing time.

1st off I will begin with one word: Wow. From the minute I walked in to the time I left, everything was beyond expectations. I was meeting some friends for dinner & as I walked in I was immediately impressed with the cozy & welcoming ambiance. The decor is tasteful & warm, exuding a natural comfortable feeling.. The minute I sat down the owner Mario came to introduce himself & welcome me there. Though the waiter was at our service throughout, Mario personally took our orders. I had a special request for my meal & was fully expecting that they would either not 'be able to accommodate it or that they would need to charge me a fairly big surcharge for it., as most places do. To the contrary! Mario not only said no problem, but he also did it at no extra cost- a rarity by today's standards, to say the least. Now for the food. Simply put: Exquisite. Melt in your mouth dishes- from the appetizers to the main course, right through to the dessert. We all had different dishes & couldn't help dipping into eachother's plates to taste everything because it was ALL so good!! The wine selection was excellent & met the same caliber of quality as the food. We stayed to closing time but Mario did not rush us out. Once again, to the contrary, he stayed to speak with us. As I said in the beginning of my review: Wow. This place has it all: Decor, atmosphere, service, food & wine- all top notch. If you want to have a mouthwatering meal with good wine in a comfortable setting with welcoming & warm service, then this is a definite must go to. I highly recommend it, wil definitely be going back. Thank you Mario & all the staff for an...

At first glance it is a quaint, small typical style old montreal restaurant. Exposed stone walls giving us the feel of once upon a time. The wine cellar is large and visible. The staff are all quite friendly and courteous. The owner is friendly, present and on top of it all. The food was tasty. I guess all that one looks for in a eatery of this caliber. So we ate well. We drank well. And we enjoyed each other's company. ( By we I mean my very good friend from out of town and I.) Unfortunately the one thing that bothered me the most was that when I booked our table I was told that, (after much hum and ha-ing by the person taking the reservation), we would have to be done and out by 8 pm . So I agreed thinking that an early dinner,( 6pm) would not be a great issue and having till 8 pm would be more than enough time to enjoy my birthday dinner . Well from 6 till 8 there were a total of 8 people in the entire restaurant. As we left there was only two other people still eating. And no one madly rushing the restaurant to come in. I don't think we needed to be told that we had a cut off time if there were barely any other souls coming. It just made us feel rushed. I understand the logistics of it all. If you create a scenario where there is hight demand then most people will possibly want nothing more than to have an IN to the popular restaurant. So there you have it. The entire evening was enjoyable and yummy. But the false pressure...
