Went there guided by relatively decent reviews, but left the place disappointed. Starters were OK, but main dishes, supposedly beef, were horrible. It neither looked nor tasted beef. It turned out we couldn't pay with card, so I had to find an ATM. Further down the road, the place didn't have a licence to sell alcohol, so I had to go find a convenience store, which was a bizarre experience on its own - but it's a separate story. In all fairness, they at least allowed us to bring our own booze. Finally, when it came to place the order, we had to write it ourselves on a piece of paper. It would't be that bad, but we found out after having the meal, they added 15% service charge on top of the bill. 15% service charge?! For what?! Read moreMy friend and I were in the mood for Chinese Food and dined at Deer Garden.
The restaurant is clean, well- illuminated and basic in atmosphere.
We ordered Fried Spinach, Shrimp With Chinese Broccoli and Cantonese Fried Noodles.
The Fried Spinach was sugar- coated and brittle to the touch. It was good but an acquired taste.
The Shrimp with Chinese Broccoli was tasty, but the broccoli stalks did not need to be julienned at all. Still, well- flavored.
The Cantonese Fried Noodles had a very good proportion of sauce to noodles, with delicious vegetables covering the noodles. My favorite of the three ordered dishes.
Service was excellent.

I would recommend Deer Garden for good tasting...

The first thing to mention is the small cozy place, not too small like a café, not too spacious to have a crowd who makes too much noise. The second thing is their kind, understanding and cooperating employees. Two people serving, not stressed not tired, not mixing things and making mistakes. The third thing is The Delicious Food. I always go for meat and I say I can prepare rice by myself, but the Fried Rice was the best. The taste of fire was amazing. And the last but not the least is the price which was very low compared to other fancy places. We had a great experience and we recommend...
