$140 Meal That Left More Than a Bad Taste Perched with a seemingly stunning view, this restaurant lures diners in with its picturesque terrace—but what followed was easily one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I've ever had. From the very beginning, service was chaotic and careless. We were left waiting over 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. When a server finally arrived, they dismissed the delay with an unprofessional, “*Sorry, I forgot about you haha*,” a flippant comment that set the tone for the rest of the evening. We ordered espresso martinis, calamari, tempura shrimp, and tuna tartare—all of which arrived cold, soggy, and inexplicably smothered in mayonnaise. Every seafood item, regardless of its original flavor profile, was served with the same bland, gloppy accompaniment, making the entire meal taste flat and overly heavy. To make matters worse, our drinks were forgotten and only brought out after we had to ask a second server what had happened to them. While the setting sun provided a brief visual highlight, it was quickly overshadowed by the swarm of flies that began to descend on diners thanks to poorly placed terrace lighting. The atmosphere shifted from romantic to revolting in a matter of minutes. After our dishes were cleared, we were once again ignored—for another 30 minutes—with no one returning to offer dessert or bring the check. We had to request the bill ourselves, at which point we were charged **\$140** for what can only be described as one of the worst meals of our lives. To top it off, one member of our group became sick shortly after the meal—presumably due to the poor food handling and questionable freshness of the seafood. Between the cold, mayo-drenched dishes, careless service, and health concerns, this restaurant delivers a deeply disappointing experience at a steep price. A nice view is never worth food poisoning—and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Avoid at all costs.

This rooftop restaurant takes place on the 8th floor of a building near oldport of Montreal. As most places do in high season this place requires a reservation in advance. Let's talk about the ambience, when you enter the building you'll take the elevator to the 8th floor and enter this rooftop Instagram worthy picture area, yes, they've made a place for you just to take pictures with the city and let me tell you the pictures come out gorgeous especially at night with all the buildings and lights. After the picture area, you'll take a staircase to the actual restaurant area, you'll be surrounded by small lamps over your head which makes the rooftop bright and romantic. This restaurant is perfect for date nights or a cute girls night out. Super nice waiters and waitresses helped us with the menu items and choosing our drinks. We had beef tartare for starters, the portion was enough for two people as a starter, the marinade was delicious and peppery. I mean look at the picture, yum! For the main food we ordered Steak and Shrimp Tacos, both dishes had more than enough portions filling the plates. The steak was definitely my favourite with all the fries on the side and the exquisite wine sauce it tasted perfect "chef's kiss". The shrimp taco had deep-fried shrimp and a ton of veggies dressing it with a soft taco bread, I would have preferred some kind of hot, spicy sauce or spice to accompany the tacos, it would have taken it to another level. Overall it was a delicious and eye-catching experience, I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a love of food or terraces and great ambience, or if you are an Instagram addict like me, visit this place and add gorgeous pictures to your Instagram collection.

Extremely disappointed with the main we took, the burgers. It was one of the most driest & tasteless smash burger & bun we ever had. The patty was dry as cardboard & bun thick & bland. Nothing in addition in the burger brought any plus. For the price & place, our expectation was way higher than a fast-food place. The couple sitting next to us had ordered same. When we spoke to them, they shared the same opinion & our plates were all left half done. I ate 3/4 as I don’t like wasting food but i had to really force myself. The server was nice enough to ask us if he could bring us something else as we left the food but we were just too done to even order a dessert. The shrimp tacos were good & zucchini fritters ok. The terrace itself is very nice & the service was great. The message is really for the management to review their food quality. We certainly liked to go bk but For a bill of 175$+ for 2 ppl for 2 starters, 2main & 4drinks, skeptical to go bk & order food. I ve been to Brasserie 701 before , the food was great but the terrace experience was a bummer. Thanks
