bready is a pretty solid spot with a lot of options, but it’s nothing outstanding — i think it lacks the care and freshness of more local places.
i was surprised by how much i enjoyed the vanilla crème and chocolate pain suisse, which had a really crispy exterior but a hollow middle, and i loved how the flakiness and dough flavour balanced the light eggy paste inside.
the corned beef turkey panini was also yummy (but not superbly unique or anything) — the bread was insane crisp and warm, the turkey and corned beef had a very strong meaty flavour, further deepened by the savoury melted cheese. the heavier flavours were cut well by the fresh side salad with tangy and slightly sour dressing. i didn’t really taste any honey mustard aioli, but i think the sandwich would’ve really been perfect if they had that combination of sweet and sharp flavours to balance it out.
other items: chocolate babka – sweet and milky chocolate, but not the freshest or best i’ve had dubai chocolate french toast – incredibly sweet, gooey, thick, rich chocolate with crunchy nutty pistachio and kunafa, on pretty normal chewy bread (good if you’re a sweet tooth since it’s basically a bunch of decadent melted chocolate, but not an easy feat otherwise) cheese croissant danish – really soft pastry, surprisingly sweet cream cheese filling, with bits of sweet crumbs on top banana pudding – very creamy, lots of banana chunks, strong natural sweetness from banana flavour, bready cake...
Read moreI’ve been meaning to write this for a while because Bready really left an impression on me. It’s rare these days to walk into a place and feel instantly welcomed, but that’s exactly what happened the first time I stepped inside. The smell of fresh bread, the cozy atmosphere, and the way the staff greeted me — it just felt warm and inviting, like a little pocket of comfort in the middle of the day.
I’ve tried a bit of everything — the sourdough, the pastries, their sandwiches, even their coffee — and I can honestly say there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t enjoy. The bread has that perfect crust with a soft, chewy middle. The pastries are beautifully made — flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet. You can tell that everything is made with care and pride, and that kind of consistency is hard to find.
What stood out the most, though, is how the place makes me feel. Whether I’m popping in for something quick or sitting down to relax, it’s always a good experience. It’s not just about the food — it’s the whole vibe. The people behind the counter are kind and attentive without ever being overbearing. It’s like they actually enjoy what they do, and it shows.
Bready has quickly become one of those places I find myself going back to again and again. I’ve even started bringing friends just so they can experience it too. There’s something special about it — the kind of place that quietly becomes part of your routine without even...
Read moreUpdate: went for Brunch this Saturday and absolutely didn’t disappoint! Food was great, vibe was on spot, and the attendants were super patient and helpful!
Bready has finally opened in the Financial District—I knew I had to check it out, especially since they have pretzels!
The moment I stepped in, I knew: this place has it. The music, decor, and layout all remind me of my go-to cafés in Shanghai—the kind where you can easily spend an entire afternoon. The space is huge, offering a variety of sweet and savory baked goods, plus a brunch and lunch menu with coffee and drinks.
They happened to have samples when I visited, and as a cinnamon roll lover, I had to vote yes—perfect balance of sweet, savory, and moist. Also grabbed a classic pretzel for just $1.98 after tax—solid deal.
It’s great whether you’re grabbing breakfast alone, setting up with a laptop for an afternoon, having a casual work lunch, or meeting friends for brunch (probably my new weekend spot with Zhou—on non-soccer days, of course).
Prime location at the corner of Adelaide & York St—impossible to miss. If you’re coming from PATH, start from FCP, walk a little west, and before you reach St Andrew station, you’ll see stairs leading to Exchange Tower—head up to the ground floor, and you’ll find it.
As a morning person, I love that they open at 7 AM. Currently open daily from...
