While I used to love this place and their sandwiches today's experience was so bad it will forever stain my view of Porchetta & Co. When picking up my Ritual order I noticed the note I added to replace the bread with a type listed for another sandwich was ignored (not sure how switching the type of bread is difficult). When I pointed this out a staff member brought someone from the kitchen who in the rudest possible way said they didn't carry the type of bread I requested. I then showed him their menu on Ritual where it was listed (I made sure to type the note verbatim as the bread was called on the menu). He then shrugged dismissively saying it was a typo. Then he made other excuses saying they only had 8 of those buns left which he wanted to save and finally he said they don't accommodate requests. When I asked why they didn't notify me the request had been ignored, even by writing a note on the receipt, he said "we don't have time for that". Not accommodating a request is one thing, giving three different excuses for why (in a terribly rude tone) and not providing any notification to me that what I ordered was not delivered, is another thing altogether. Finally he stormed off while I was talking. Even good food tastes bad when delivered with horrible...
Read moreOrdered the sandwich special for lunch which was a Nashville Special Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was freshly prepared, with the chicken seasoned in a spicy dressing. Overall, the sandwich was reasonably priced with a decent spice level.
The Porchetta Meal came with a decent portion of Porchetta and is good value given the choice of sides. Recommended to use as an opportunity to get the more expensive sides as well. The meal is also friendly for those with less spicy preferences as all the condiments are included separately.
They also recently added a sandwich special for both locations which is currently a Turkey Bacon Club sandwich. The sandwich is a decent potion size and is filling as a meal. Overall taste is good, as the sriracha mayo adds a good kick to what would be a simple turkey club sandwich.
Many of the other sandwiches offered are also good lunch options as well, as they are a good portion...
Read moreAfter seeing this place on a couple sites as one of the best chicken sandwiches in Toronto I finally decided to give this a try. I got the OG chicken sandwich. I liked the bun. The sauce, was very tasty but too overpowering. I had a hard time tasting the chicken at times. It was alright. Speaking of chicken, there wasn't enough. I would say 75%-80% coverage. I took bites where is was just bun. Now the kicker. I've had popeyes, kfc and generally this type of food is salty. This was nothing compared to this sandwich. After I was done my mouth was dry. I had to drink 1.25 liters of water. I can't remember needing to drink so much water after eating something. There are a lot of positive reviews and I wanted to like this place but I can't right now. Maybe I will go back. Another thing, I went when it was past peak so my sandwich seemed to have been rushed thus the lack of chicken? Who knows, i'm...
