I never take the time to write reviews, but my Blenz experience last week prompted me to do so. It is a newer store, and you can see the moment you step in why it's so popular with people who come to work on their laptops. I came in craving a mocha. I had a great one at a Kits Blenz a few weeks ago and thought I'd get one here. The barista looked genuinely angry that I was there. It took a bit to hear her over the cash register, she spoke so low. She took my order and stood at the counter with her back to me. Another customer came and ordered a soy latte. She took her order too and proceeded to make them. She did get to making my drink, but it took a little longer than usual. She finished making one of the drinks, and put it on the counter. She didn't say what it was or who it was for. The lady who ordered the soy latte was right in front of the barista when she put my drink down (I had sat down to wait for my mocha), so she naturally thought it was her drink. It wasn't - I asked the other customer if it was a mocha, and she said yes. We laughed about it and I told the barista about the mistake. The barista said nothing, and took my mocha back. While she was making my 2nd mocha, she put my first drink in front of me and said, "Do you want it? It will just go in the garbage." I looked at her - obviously I didn't want to drink from a strangers' cup, so I offered it to the lady who had actually drunk from it. She laughed and said no. I told the barista this and she took it away. The other customer got her soy latte, and I got my mocha, but the barista's angry glare when she left it on the counter for me surprised me. I sipped my drink and tasted soy. I asked the barista if she used skim milk, and she said yes. I left, and I won't...
Read moreThe male manager is beyond rude, cold, and heartless. He treated me horribly for no reason (his reasoning is I was in the washroom, which when I asked politely to use, for more than 2 1/2 minutes) accused me and treated me as if I had no money/was homeless/was using the washroom to use drugs even though Iâm carrying grocery bags and had ALREADY PAID for the $7 drink including a tip which he did not under any circumstances deserve. That is besides the point in a way, because even if I were homeless he has no right to treat ANYONE the way he treated me regardless of their job or social standing. The other people who posted reviews saying that the staff is unfriendly and perhaps undertrained, almost certainly dealt with this man.
Iâve never ever written a review before, but this deserves to at least warn someone. If you want to be treated with respect as a paying customer, no matter who you are or where your from, go to any other coffee shop within a 20 foot radius. Youâre not missing anything by avoiding this manager, infact youâre doing yourself a favour. I am not by any means blaming the company as a whole as Iâve always had good friendly and diverse experiences elsewhere, but If I could rate this specific location/person zero...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered a latte at the 603 Abbott street, Vancouver location just next to stadium station. It was made too hot that I couldn't even hold it with the cup sleeve. Hubby went back and informed the barrista who made it. Instead of making a new one, she intended to add something to the drink to cool it down. The other barrista saw it and told her to make a new one. As she gave us the new latte, she said to herself in korean "too hot they complain, too cold they complain." She used swear words in that sentence as she wasn't aware that I'm also Korean. Mind you that it wasn't like she had 5 drinks to make. It was a slow night. As soon as I heard the swear words she used, I got so upset but calmly replied in korean "please refrain from swearing to us about our drink." She looked surprised and gave an I-don't-know-what-u-mean expression. Told her that I heard everything she said and then I left. I worked as a waitress before so I get it. Sometimes, customers can be a pain to deal with but to actually swear about it IN FRONT of them thinking they don't speak the language is just plain dumb and upsetting to hear. Won't be back to...
