I hosted a 60 person birthday party here, and Alan and Melissa (super sweet sibling owners) went above and beyond in accommodating my friends and I! I started chatting with them a couple months in advance, and Alan made a custom menu on their website so guests could pre-order. Melissa helped create a custom birthday cocktail (we had an impromptu tasting session!) with lychee slushee, lychee juice poppers and botanical vodka. She also let me go wild with custom cheesecake flavours for my birthday cake, and the cake decoration was STUNNING. They let us come super early to decorate (they said we could’ve come the night before if we wanted!), and the restaurant buy-out was way more reasonably priced than other downtown restaurant, especially for a 70-80 person capacity space! AND they stay open super late - Alan was super gracious and let us keep chatting with our remaining guests until 2.45am :D They put a lot of thought and care into their hospitality, and it shows. Super friendly, and I got lots of compliments from my guests on how cute the space was. The central location in Chinatown, especially next to the skytrain was really convenient for our guests. Oh and they let us come back the next day to take down the decorations (so we didn’t have to worry about doing that straight after partying :D) Alan also helped me stream a photo slideshow on the TV, and tweaked the lighting and volume settings. Even with 60 people it didn’t feel too loud - it’s nice having the booths and different sections for people to sit/walk around. I highly recommend hosting parties/events here! Was super happy to support such a warm and friendly local business 🥰

Very rude, bad service, bad food, overpriced. I sat down during non-peak hours (the cafe was basically empty) and was waiting for my friend to arrive before ordering. The staff asking me if I was waiting for someone and I said so sorry yes I am, so it seemed like they were aware and okay with it. When my friend arrived, he went to the front and ordered and paid first and the staff told him they were not going to serve him until his friend (me) ordered. He was a fully paying customer and they threatened to withhold the food he paid for until his friend ordered?! Incredibly passive aggressive and rude. If they wanted me to order before sitting down, they could have just said to my face "sorry, seating is for paying customers" instead of being passive aggressive. They thankfully ended up bringing my friend his drink before I ordered but the server was being pushy and passive aggressive and asked me if I had ordered yet when I was still looking at the menu and deciding... I didn't want to make a fuss so I ended up buying a soup and it was terrible - worse than the canned stuff. And it cost $10 after tax. Total ripoff, rude staff, bad food, will never be coming back here again. Avoid at all costs. Edit: I mistakenly wrote this review while I was still at the cafe and the owner confronted me while I was there. He was very defensive and condescending and kept gaslighting me and invalidating my experience instead of apologizing and acknowledging that I had a negative experience. I don’t know what else to say other than this place is awful on all accounts.

Ordered food to go, but decided to dine in for croissant crawl, pre-ordering the ham and cheese mochi and almond double bake special items, and Belgian chocolate mocha as a drink. Owner was working front of house as staff were off for Rememberance Day. He was doing his best on his own despite a heavy flow of customers and the Cafe website being down due to web traffic. He remained professional, attentive and methodical. Croissants were crisp and fluffy with decent size and filling. Mochi brings a sweet edge to the savory combination of ham and cheese, reminiscent of mozzarella but somehow lighter. The almond and crisp flake of the croissant complement the gentle sweetness of the double bake. Belgian mocha flowed smoothly, leaving no bitter trace of darker (or burnt) roasts, with creamy notes of the chocolate and milk accented by the right amount of tartness from the cocoa powder. Aesthetic of the Cafe itself is modern with warm colors. A few art pieces and sculptures, while nice independently, don't harmonize well with the overall impression, making them stand out in an odd way. Doesn't change the excellent food and drink quality. A worthwhile visit despite the staff shortage.

This restaurant was located at a very convenient location, right next to Stadium SkyTrain station. I went in strictly because I was at Costco looking for T. Swift's newly released album (for science, I swear!), which I heard through the grapevine was available at the Stadium location (and it was, but just sold out very quickly obvs). Wanted to grab a quick bite afterwards, so went into Charisma. I had been there once before when the restaurant participated in a croissant crawl, but never really sat down properly to try other items on their menu. The restaurant was bigger and more spacious than I expected, and would be good for relatively bigger parties as well. You can order at the counter, or sit down at the table and scan a QR code to access and directly order from the website, which I found to be a convenient touch. It was a big menu, with lots of different options and many drink options available as well. When I went, they had a promo going of free bbtea after $30 spent. I ordered a simple brunch item, just eggs and shrooms, croissant and coffee, so it's not really enough to give a proper food review over, but it was enjoyable enough an experience. I sat comfortably, ate comfortably and enjoyed my morning. I got a chance to converse with one of the owners of the restaurant before I left, and we got to talking about the struggles of keeping a mom and pop shop afloat post covid. Family-run local businesses have a difficult time bouncing back and competing with companies that have a lot more resources to go through, so I understood where he was coming from. I think it's important to support local businesses, especially ones where you really feel they're passionate about trying to make things work and cater to their customers, which is what this owner is striving to do. He talked about wanting to improve the menu, brainstorm different promotions, finding others ways to advertise the place. I hope he keeps it up! I would love to be back to try out other menu...

Dear Sandwich Artisan,

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the culinary masterpiece you bestowed upon me during my recent visit to your establishment. The pulled pork sandwich I indulged in was nothing short of extraordinary, a symphony of flavors and textures that danced upon my palate with each delectable bite. Your skill and artistry in crafting such a culinary delight are truly commendable, and I am in awe of your talent.

Furthermore, I must extol the virtues of the garlic bread that accompanied the sandwich. Its golden crust and savory garlic aroma elevated the entire dining experience to new heights of gastronomic delight. Each bite was a revelation, a testament to the perfection that can be achieved through simplicity and attention to detail.

And let us not forget the mystery drink that accompanied my meal—a true ticket to heaven, if ever there was one. Its tantalizing flavor and refreshing effervescence were the perfect complement to the savory delights of the sandwich and garlic bread. Truly, it was a revelation, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have experienced such culinary bliss.

In light of my recent gastronomic adventure, I am already eagerly anticipating my next visit to your establishment. Whether in person or via Uber Eats, I vow to return to partake once more in the culinary delights you have to offer. Your dedication to your craft and commitment to excellence have won me over, and I eagerly await the opportunity to once again savor the flavors of your creations.

Once again, thank you for the unforgettable dining experience. Your talent and passion for food shine brightly, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to partake in your culinary creations.

With warm...
