This morning, I found myself needing to use the washroom, so I went to the cafĂ©. As soon as I walked in, I noticed there was a keypad for restroom access; I then asked one of the girls if I could use it. She replied that it was only available for customers, suggesting that I would need to make a purchase first in order to use the restroom. I simply responded, "Sure, I'll buy something after using the restroom." I could see her expression was unfriendly, and she reluctantly made her way to the restroom to enter the code on the keypad. I thanked her, but she didnât reply to my gratitude. Upon entering the restroom, I heard two guys chatting loudly as if they were nearby. I looked up at the ceiling and noticed it was wide open, connecting to the kitchen where those two staff members were working. For a brief moment, I wondered if there were any hidden cameras up there. After I left the restroom, I went to the counter and ordered a medium-sized tea, which cost around $5 and, in my opinion, seemed like a small cup. I wasnât very impressed with either the tea or the overall experience at the cafĂ©. They could have easily put up a sign saying "no public restroom use." The girl's demeanor could have been more pleasant; just imagining her in my situation of needing a restroom. How a little kindness can go a long way in making a good or...

I stumbled upon PappaRoti Café & Bakery on Canada Day, and it instantly became one of my favorite places in the city. The festive atmosphere, adorned with lights and a proud Canadian flag, made it a perfect vibe to celebrate the day.    Read moreâUpdate - Jan. 16, 2019. A small cup of JJ bean coffee at $1. Special promotion. I don't know how long it will continue.
I drop by in the morning for a cup of coffee to kill my time until my company opens. Coffee is brewed with JJ beans. They also sell JJ beans. That's why I began to go. I was expecting some Luciano Pavaroti songs or some Italian songs once in a while, but the morning music is all kpop which I don't hate. The mood and warmth and the servers are good. I hope they would change the genre of music once in a while. The Morning Fix - a bun and medium coffee is $6 until 10 am. No matter how good it might be, it is too expensive for a simple breakfast. They should develop a cheaper breakfast to attract people. How about a muffin and small coffee at $2.50?
(Update) The music selection has been improved to include many other songs. They have a point system to get a free coffee after 10 points. Each transaction is one point. I am not sure if you can get bakery with points. They often put out sample coffee bun for tasting. The staffs are very...
