I like Trees (a little too much) and I go to the one on Granville street a lot because it’s close to where I live.  Trees on Davie Street is another one of those coffee shops that I "usually" walk by all the time but rarely stop.  However, when I do stop here it’s a good experience. Trees Organic on Davie Street has a very Davie Street vibe.  I can’t really describe it exactly, but it’s kind of a vintage vibe.  Like I was having coffee in someone’s kitchen.  The focus seems to be on people, rather than interior design.  Which is a bold marketing decision.  My pictures don't really do it justice. But if you come here you'll feel what I mean. The staff are super friendly, so that really helps to set the tone.  I like coming here because I know what to expect.  In a world that is getting weirder by the day, it’s nice to have a place to go where you can feel safe and relaxed. Wifi is good.  It’s not a big coffee shop but the seating is comfy, practical, and solid.  There are big bright windows up front that afford a good view of Davie Street, if you like to people watch.  Wifi is good, coffee is good, and like all Trees Organic Coffee Shops the chocolate croissants and the ham & cheese croissants, are also good.  I’ve never tried the wide selection of cheese cakes which they are well known for.  But they seem quite popular.

First visit to this Trees location, but I’ve been to many of the other locations. The space is clean and comfortable - it’s moderately-sized for downtown and wasn’t crowded around noon on a weekday while I was there. The barista was friendly. I had a veggie breakfast wrap, a slice of strawberry cheesecake (January special), and a cup of Chinese sencha. The breakfast wrap is your standard scrambled eggs wrap with a Southwest touch of black beans and peppers, with a side of spicy salsa. It was good. The strawberry cheesecake had a strong natural strawberry flavour. The texture was nice and light, this one was a bit more mousse-like than most of their cheesecakes. They use high quality tea leaves. My good impression here is consistent with the experiences I’ve had at other locations. Their food is standard cafe fare but notable for being fresh and filling. The cheesecake slices are a good size, not too dense, and all of the flavours I’ve tried so far (which is most of them) are memorable.

Absolutely love this location! Keera is easily the best Barista in the city. Remembers your name, order, where you work and the little details you share as you order. Beyond the incredible service you are guaranteed to get an amazing cup of coffee, she makes them expertly and always leaves you with an amazing coffee art that you would never expect from a chain coffee shop. Such a beautiful and incredible part of the Davie neighbourhood. If you haven’t been I endlessly recommend. Say hi and receive a warm welcoming smile from Keera when you go in :) And if this all isn’t enough to convince you. Just look at that picture below, you can taste the skill and dedication straight from the photo

Amazing cafe.

I was catcalled outside just minutes before entering Trees, so this cafe provided a safe space for me to hide away and recollect myself.

There were 2 baristas behind the counter, and they were so kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I ordered a Taro latte w oat milk, Vegan scone, and Vegan wrap. I often forget to tell people that I have dairy allergies, but the barista that took my order made sure to verify if I wanted my scone to be buttered or not. Thank you for making sure!

The food was also a banger. I've ordered at the Surrey location and loved it enough to get the same order here lol. I am all for providing vegan options, especially pastries! The Taro latte is definitely unique and not something I've ever seen before, I would recommend! The scone was great too, I had it cold but I think it would've been better if warmed/toasted.

I must admit that I spent too much time at this cafe, probably around 4 hours. I hope this wasn't a problem to the staff! I set up my laptop to do a bunch of studying and take some calls and meetings. The tables are big enough to spread out my work, which was perfect for me.

I will be frequenting Trees! But maybe not this...
