GOT SCAMMED BADLY
(Context) My family and I were visiting the docks we were approached by someone who appeared to be genuine, they showed us a decent looking menu with a different restaurant name and told us that because it was Monday all the restaurants were closed except for his. Next they lead us down a very unsafe looking street to their rundown little establishment. When we walked through the door we were greeted by some pretty dodgy looking people sitting on a sofa at the entrance.
Once me and my family were seated at our table, we noticed immediately that the table was extremely sticky (felt like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in weeks) so that wasn’t ideal but we ordered some starters regardless. When the empanadas arrived my brother noticed that there were multiple strands of hair cooked into the food, then for the rest of my family they brought some musty looking soups that were clearly sketchy from first look, but after 30 seconds of being on the table the bowls literally cracked and leaked the entire soup all over the table. Please avoid this blatant tourist trap I fell for 👍. (The food was also overpriced and service...
Read moreWe fell for a tourist trap here. At the harbour we met a man advertising an authentic two course meal and pisco sour at a restaurant nearby for 5,000 pesos. In reality we had to walk a few hundred metres down a main road, and the food was very basic Ceviche, the world's smallest Pisco Sour (it was about 30mL) and not very good main dish. They tried to convince us to purchase mains for a full price and perhaps they are better, but any place that decieves it's customers like this deserves...
