I found this place by Google Maps and read reviews so I knew the shop served hand drip and I would have to stand.
I visited on Sunday and made an order for an Ethiopia natural. I paid $70 and was issued a receipt at 15:02.
At 15:21, I received the coffee. I only received the coffee because I was standing alone at the receiving area, every other customer having been served, and the four staff members were standing behind the counter doing nothing. One had the good sense to come over and check my receipt. That is only when they began preparing the coffee!
I donât observe a computerized information system that tells which staff member to prepare which drink. My guess is one of the guys behind the counter is the information system.
Anyway, the coffee was fine but not worth the wait. I was willing to try this shop and...
Read moreCame to Chart Coffee today! I learned of this place through SCAHK (Specialty Coffee Association of Hong Kong) as they are multiple coffee competitions winner/runner-ups, most notably winning Hong Kong Siphonist Champion in 2019.

My cup was superb -- incredibly fruity with all the desirable taste from the wide range of crisp acidity (the very bright kinds), yet still quite clean considering the heavy extraction the method normally yield.

I deliberately picked the fruity favor paired with the coffee for the mocha to see if it would be a bad idea (I am doing a cross examination as I have a bad experience b4) and it turns out just fine. So mocha does have to go with nutty beans.
I picked the Kenya Embu coffee because it is brewed from peaberry beans, which I havenât tried before. According to the information, a peaberry is a natural mutation where only one round seed develops inside the coffee cherry instead of the usual two seeds.
The coffee has clear tasting notes of citrus, blackcurrant, plum, and the sweetness of honey. It features a medium to light body with a silky texture. Good...
