I have passed this venue so many times on my way to the gym, but never thought of there is a speakeasy bar in the Landmark. Dr. Fern, hiding inside the shopping mall, looks like some kind of a beauty parlour, but it's actually a hidden gem. Featuring more than a dictionary amount of gin and twenty odd types of tonic, sure there is one up to your alley. Dr. Weize Description, made with Weizza gin, full of herbal aroma, topped up with lavender and ginger foam, refreshing and rejuvenating. Bordiga Smoke, orange and star anise fragrant hit the nose at first, then the warmth of apple and cinnamon came through, Christmassy yet light and delightful. Two Moon Five Flowers Tea Gin, like the Hong Kong herbal tea Ng Fa Cha, the bitterness from the herbs are just so right for making gin, mixed with Mediterranean tonic to boost the floral and grassy notes. Kanomori Gin, my recent favourite gin, perfectly extracted the woody note from Kuromoji wood, mixed with indian tonic to fully enjoy the scent of Japanese forest. The drinks are on the pricey side but well worth it, good for someone seeking a quiet and...

Feeling a bit of the 🥺Monday blue and I need to consult the “doctors” (mixologists) here lol. Trying their new botanical cocktail menu. I sampled 3 gin cocktails out of the 7 and my fav would definitely be the van der bloom one. Very smooth and 🌸floral. I also like the Gin Raw Orange blossom - relatively a stronger kick and I love the orange cake on top! Hepple Sloe & Hawthorn one is refreshing but slightly more bitter and dry. All these floral inspired 🍹cocktails match with their new @vanderbloomhk installations - blossoming in every corner of Dr Ferns. And with the beautiful garden decor, they started this “📸snap, tag and sip” Instagram campaign, where you may win two glasses of the limited edition van der Bloom x Song Cai Floral & fever tree light tonic by posting a picture of yourself (rmb to post with hashtags #DrFernsxVanDerBloom, @drfernshk, and @vanderbloomhk). Winners will be announced on @drfernshk’s IG Story on the 1st and 15th of every month until 31st May. Schedule your doctor...

Only impressed with the decoration and theme in this bar. Somewhat impressed with the gin selection. Disappointed with the drinks that requires no effort at all. It's basically just gin and tonic... There are no gin based cocktails which requires effort...... Asked for recommendation and they recommended the lousiest Thai gin. Ordered the "grapefruit cocktail" - taste no gin at all, I just paid for grapefruit juice or something. Exorbitant price for the lousy drinks too - HKD140 for it!

I am still in disbelieve that we wasted our time here, and can't believe it that they made it to Asia's Top 50 bars for 2017. Having great selection of gin makes a bar worthy, I can't brain this. Will not recommend this bar at all.

Extra one star because the bar itself...
