DISHONEST RESTAURANT DO NOT EAT HERE! Food poisoning the next day.

We had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. I have no idea how they are still in business.

Three people in our group experienced food poisoning the next day after our meal.

When we ordered the set menu ($398) for two people we were never informed that we could only choose two types of rice when they menu specified 3, and even said the white rice was free flow. I specifically asked the waitress, and she assured us we would receive everything on the menu. So imagine my frustration when I asked for a rice refill and was told it would cost extra because apparently you can only choose 2 and we weren’t given the choice.

To make matters worse, we had inquired about special birthday arrangements ahead of time and confirmed this via WhatsApp. When we arrived, I was shocked to learn that no dessert would be provided—just a birthday message that they would put on whatever dessert you order. So we ordered an extra cake dessert on top of the dessert we already ordered in our set menu.., and then asked for them to bring out our set menu desserts (fried banana with ice cream), each costing $98, but suddenly the server decided we would have to pay extra for them. She suddenly refused to give us our dessert and said we will have to pay separately for dessert since she decided that the cake (which we ordered) would replace TWO desserts that we had already paid for. Are they just milking customers for money at this point? We gave up at that point since she was already quite rude and refused to give us a choice.

I reached out to the restaurant for an explanation, and all I got was a standard response thanking me for bringing this to their attention, with no further explanation or resolution. This restaurant is extremely overrated and shouldn’t even be in business if they’re going to treat customers like this. Not to mention the grill smoke will burn your eyes as you sit there with zero ventilation throughout the meal.

Due to this outrageous experience, I will not be returning. Save your money and go elsewhere! Extremely overpriced food. There are plenty of better Indonesian...

Food is phenomenal every time we come here! It’s hard to impress my parents and they love it so much! If you want to make anything vegetarian, just let the staff know! Great vibes, easy to book/walk in. Highly recommend!

Nasi Goreng (5/5) - this Indonesian fried rice is SOO GOOD! So flavourful, so satisfying! Must try!

Mee Goreng (5/5) - Delicious Indonesian fried noodles. Equally as good as the fried rice version. Must try!

Ayam Goreng (5/5) - Amazing Indonesian fried chicken omg! It’s SO GOOD. There is a lot of bones which westerners might not like. Must try!

Bayi Brokoli Goreng Bawang (3/5) - Brocolini sautéed in garlic. It’s good, but would highly recommend the shrimp paste version (we chose garlic to accommodate a vegetarian friend).

Rendang Jamur (4/5) - Mushroom rendang is great but I think the beef version would’ve been tastier (we chose mushroom to accommodate a vegetarian friend, which she loved and very much appreciated that there is this option!).

Pepes Ikan (5/5) - Spicy fish wrapped in banana leaf is so tender and flavourful! Unique too. Definitely give it a try!

Perkedel Jagong (4/5) - Fresh corn fritters paired with a delicious sauce. It’s good but nothing out of the ordinary, but my boyfriend loves it!

Roti (5/5) - Hot soft naan with lots of layers, easy to pull a part. A perfect choice of carb to scoop up the delicious sauce and curry of all the other dishes. Must try if you haven’t had this kind of roti before!

Jeruk Bali Salad (5/5) - Pomelo salad with prawn include tomatos, apples and cashews. Very fresh and tangy, we loved it!

Pepes Terong (5/5) - sweeter version of the Chinese eggplant dish. If you love that you would love this! I recommend pairing this with something, like a roti.

Can’t wait to try all the...

Wow! Asian Street Food at its best! We never visited Indonesia until now... but if we visit, and find food there like this evening, we will be happy! And the cocktails... try their cocktails! Hard to define a favorite, but i think the Pinacolada 1968 is same part instagramable same like tasty. But also the other ones are marvelous. You can also ask for a "special cocktail", they will mix you something they are just inspired. The prices are fair, special if you keep in mind you are in Hongkong. And the place is... Street Food! You are sitting bellow an escalator, watching the people passing by, enjoying your food and drinks... we loved it. Not forget to mention the staff, special the waitress. Owner? Waitress? Don't know. But the mam made us feel to be a part of her relatives, only after 5 minutes. We had a very bad experience this afternoon in the central marked, that's the only reason we go out again to forget this. Thanks to 1968, we have a wonderful evening...

IDR is a Michelin Recommended Restaurant from 2011 to 2017. It is newly reopened in Central and bringing authentic Indonesian flavour in HK😋 We ordered mostly what the waitress recommended and they turned out amazing. The Satay Chicken, Fish Cake & Rendang are most remarkable among all❤️ ig Google op -Salads- Rujak Petis $128 (Fruit Salad with Shrimp Paste Sweet Sauce) Jeruk Bali Salad $138 (Pomelo Salad with Prawn, tastes sour and sweet!) -Snacks- Kerupuk $48 (Super Crispy Indonesian Prawn Cracker, definitely best paired with alcohol☺️) Perkedel Jagong $68 (Fresh Corn fritters ends with a sweet note🌽) Perkedel Ilan $78 (Fish Cake is seasoned perfectly with mixed vegetables, freshly minced with texture!) -Grill- Sate Ayam $68 (Highly recommend Chicken Satay! Satay sauce is so rich, and chicken meat are tender and flavorful👍🏼) Rendang $118 (Stewed Beef Shank in Spicy Javanese Sauce) -Rice- Nasi Bawang $38 (Garlic Lemongrass Rice)

The night we visited the restaurant was the time when it just relocated to the opposite shop of the classic “snake Fun” shop. I wasn’t having a good appetite before meeting my friends there but the dishes they served, all in a right nice portion, tasted so appealing that we already agreed to plan for a comeback. We ordered beef shrank, chicken and beef satay, yellow ginger rice and many more; my favorite is the Ox Tongue (which was freshly cut and grilled). The restaurant had a great vibe for different events: solos, cozy gatherings and farewell parties. Alfred and Hudson, the two welcoming brothers (who run the shop), were great hosts, so were their waiters there - we even had a good friendly chat with a free round of drinks! I guess, for a shop that stands in HK food history for 55 years, it deserves to be known and well respected. It certainly didn’t disappoint us. It’s certainly on our recommended list now.
