Travelling Back In Time at Retro 🇬🇧
When you’re walking down Jaffe street, no doubt Retro will catch you eye and stop by to check out what’s inside this vintage and British style cafe 🟥🟤🇬🇧
Entering the cafe is like travelling back in time, rustic, burgundy-themed with soft glow from vintage banker lamps, the memories from good old days immediately flash back in mind 🎞🎥
We ordered the classic Americano, Macha Dirty and pecan pie. Pecan tart is surprisingly good, the crisp, nuttiness and richness, simply can’t stop eating 🥹
Then got introduced by the friendly cafe owner that we gotta try out their coffee tonic! And it’s DAMN good! The presentation is superb, am I drinking coffee or cocktail? Impressed that they are using Le Tribute tonic water for this, it’s less sweet, filled with lemongrass flavours - in short, just elevated coffee tonic to the next level ♥️☕️🥃
💬 Cozy ambiance, friendly and welcoming staff, high quality coffee and light bites - could expect myself spending on afternoons...
Read moreWent here cause a good reviews and near from my hotel. Place is cute and clean. But I found out they’re bit snobby. I ordered and paid. When I ordered I asked one of them to give me simple syrup or sugar for my ice latte he said yes. Not sure he understood what I said. Our coffee came without sugar on the side. We drink our coffee with sugar like everyone else, maybe not like you do, so asking for sugar is a sin now? You open a coffee shop for your PAID customers, not for yourself. Should’ve not in the business. Guess who just paid 54HKD for nothing? Me. If you like your coffee without sugar go for it, if you drink your coffee with...
Read moreA Café with a rather enigmatic name. It's at one end of the street after a few of the local eateries so could be missed if you do not walk to the end. As named, the interior has a retro feel and dimly lit. Great for getting out of the sun and heat in August when I was there. The space was a tad small. Most of the seats were two seaters or bar stools by the wall. But I found a seat without much difficulty during weekday lunch time. The salmon and avocado sandwich was good! As was the cold blood orange soda drink. Unfortunately I was already over caffeinated so didn't try their coffee. Food and drinks were a bit pricey in view of the local eateries nearby. I guess we pay for the ambience! Will certainly try to make it there the next...
