Latter Cafe — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

As a pistachio lover, my friend found this cafe and we decided to have a try during lunch hour. . We ordered Portobello and Black Truffle Scrambled Egg Bagel and Smoked Salmon and Avocado Green Salad.

For the Portobello and Black Truffle Scrambled Egg Bagel, it smelled aromatic with black truffle. The portobello was juicy and chewy, complementing the scrambled egg nicely. The bagel was a bit hard and cold though.

For the Smoked Salmon and Fig Green Salad, actually it should be seared tuna originally, so sad that they ran out of seared tuna, so they suggested replacing it by smoked salmon. Anyways, the salad was refreshing and the fig moderated the greasiness of the smoked salmon.

Their MVP must be the Pistachio Basque Burnt Cheesecake. We were deeply impressed🥹. With roasted pistachio chip on top, the cake had a soft and runny interior. Once you bit it, u could immediately tasted its smooth and creamy texture. Thr pistachio flavour was rich but not heavy. . The cafe was prettily decorated, it got a teddy bear in front of their door. That handsome gingerbread man enjoying a cozy mashmallow-chocolate bath is truly the most adorable thing ever!😍 He was clearly why I went to this particular cafe on Christmas morning 😉 I also really appreciated the bitter notes of dark chocolate present in their hot chocolate (well at least before the marshmallows started melting) which to me is what makes a good hot chocolate 🍫

The chicken breasts that came with both their salad and linguine were cooked perfectly tender, though the pasta had a rather small portion size and the salad had way too much rocket, personally, I would have preferred a more balanced mix of various salad leaves.

Love their Christmas decor and Christmas music 🎶 and their tasting menu definitely sounds delicious!

Perhaps an exemplar of urban cafés. The staff were amiable, well-mannered and proactive in service. The café has an impeccably well-designed interior, acting as serene isolation from the cityscape merely a door away.
