Silk. (Central) — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

I used to come here all the time, mainly because they’re one of the few places with oat milk. The bubbles are always chewy and perfectly cooked, which kept me coming back. The flavors have felt kinda underwhelming, and I’m honestly not sure what all the hype is about.

What really got me though was the service. The staff used to be friendly, no matter how busy they were, but last night, I asked for extra bubbles (which I always do) and the cashier just said "NO"—no explanation, no nothing. I was confused and a little annoyed, especially since I’ve never had an issue with this before.

The black sesame drink was still pretty good, just the right amount of sweetness. But after that interaction, I didn’t even bother using my loyalty card, and I don’t think I’ll be coming back...

I decided to try Silk in Central for the first time after hearing many good things, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and unpleasant. While we were waiting for our drinks, a staff member at the back was openly picking his nose while staring at customers. It wasn’t subtle at all, it was continuous and with no regard for hygiene or professionalism. Even after making eye contact, he continued without any concern.

This is incredibly unhygienic, especially considering he was working around drinks being prepared for customers. It left us feeling disgusted and completely ruined the experience. I would not recommend visiting until the store seriously improves its standards of cleanliness and...

The product is not bad at this shop! And the price is reasonable indeed, not expensive even if at a premium location in Central area.

The product is not bad but the operation logistic is far from ideal. The shop is not short-staffed (often 5-6 young workers there) but the production time is long. They don't have a way to triage 'big orders' (from Foodpanda/ Deliveroo) from walk-in orders, so if you see no queue and you get in and order, it's highly very likely you will get told to 'wait 15-20mins' after your tapped Octopus (yes, they won't tell you before you tap).
