Lin Heung Lau 蓮香樓尖沙咀 – 3/5 ⭐️
Came for a classic dim sum experience and the vibe is actually quite nice – old-school bamboo baskets stacked high, warm lighting and that busy Hong Kong teahouse feeling. Pretty good for photos and the design of the place feels traditional yet clean.
Food-wise, it was a bit hit and miss: • The braised chicken feet with black bean and chilli were tender and nicely coated in sauce, but the flavour could be a bit deeper – more black bean and spice would be great. • The char siu served on a hot plate looked amazing and was the best dish of the meal: nicely caramelised, slightly smoky and juicy. • The thick crab/seafood & corn soup was comforting but quite heavy and one-note after a few spoonfuls. • The beancurd skin roll was soft and homely, though the seasoning inside felt a little bland. • Dim sum selection overall is wide, with lots of baskets to choose from at the counter, which is fun.
Service is where the score drops a bit. Staff are very rushed and quite direct – typical old HK style – but it does feel a bit unfriendly at times. They get the job done, just don’t expect smiles or much patience. Still, food comes out fast and hot, so efficiency is there.
Overall, an “ok la” place if you want the atmosphere and some decent char siu and dim sum, but for this price range and service style, it’s more of a 3-star “try once” than a...

My last visit to Lin Heung was at the Tsuen Wan location with my late father and I am delighted to find out they open a new location in TST.
Brought back a lot of good old memories with the dim sum cart and stall. I still remember I am too shy to talk to the dim sum ladies when I was a kid but now I probably talked louder than them lol
You can pick what you like and “collect stamps” on your dim sum card. The more you collect, the more you pay - and you pay at the checkout register, all forms of electronic payments are accepted here. Some specialty dishes do require ordering and will be prepared fresh to order.
I especially liked their pig intestine soup with preserved vegetables, super delicious. I disagree with other comments that food are not hot, maybe coming at busy lunch hour helped.
In case you can’t read Chinese, the staff have name tags of famous people. Mom said that would make it easier for people to remember the staff name, but I suppose that is only fun if you actually know what it meant. A shout out to Lai Ming and Ching Wan for friendly...
Read moreNo difference between a booked table (booked through Open Xxxx App) or walk in, no door person, queue even you have booking! Chosen your tea for you 1 second after the question was asked You don't actually know the price of what you eat. Asked for price list or menu of the dim sum they said there’s no such thing! You don't even know how to order when there were actually three ways to order three different categories of food?! Bacicslly everything is self serviced even looking for a sauce plate Way more than enough staff but 90% of them prefer to chit chat and to obviously either ignore their customers and giving unclear instructions!
PS: I am a local who can speak native Cantonese and I and my partner who’s not from hk! If these combinations of us doesn’t work! Highly DON’T recommend any group who doesn’t even have one native speaker within to go to this place!
I’m generally not that type of person who is expecting high quality service especially when it comes with local hk restos! But this is really WORST OF...
