Sorabol Korean Restaurant 新羅寶 (尖沙咀店) — Restaurant in Kowloon

Well we had dinner yesterday, Saturday on 7th of May 2016. Three of us had dinner over there and spent almost HK$800.00! We had ordered Korean BBQ however they didn't provide fresh vegetables for wiping the BBQ meat! I had asked the waitress about it and got the answer that in their restaurant just eat like that NO ANYTHING FRESH VEGETABLES PROVIDED FOR WIPING THE BBQ MEAT! It's rediculars! I am Korean! I know our food....This is FIRST TIME in my life eating Korean BBQ without fresh vegetables for wiping the BBQ meat!!! And also, the side dishes was poor and dingy! Totally 6, two kinds of Kimchi /김치, 1 piece of Toufu/두부, 1 seaweed, 1 soy been sprout/콩나물 and 1 zucchini /호박 ! When I asked the waitress about it and got the answer was that Yes ! That's all! I feel so embraced front of my friends as I was told them how good this restaurant, recommended and took them to the restaurant! I believed they will be never ever come back again! I don't know what the waitress nationality as she seems didn't understand English, Chinese and Korean! Highly recommends this restaurant to give their staff a proper training to improve their services! Otherwise, CLOSING DOWN the business is their...

So, I am always curious when finding a place that intrigues me, but leaves little to no imagination about the reviews. I went out with my girlfriend and her parents to this place. What we got.

Kimchi Pork Pancake Served without pork? The menu is not updated according to the waitress, which was not mentioned when we ordered this dish... Also half raw in the middle. Too sour for the 4 of us.

Beef rib soup Overly sweet...

Ginseng Chicken Soup For me quite okay, nothing special, needs to be enhanced with a lot of salt, which they serve next to it.

Steamed Egg Okay, nothing special.

In the end we didn't feel full or satisfied. We decided to go home.

Total cost for 4 people HK$ 745,-

I am sorry to say that those bad reviews are kinda deserved. For this price you can eat in 500 other restaurants in the neighbourhood that give proper service, bring out good and tasty food, and can fill up 8 adult bellies.

I feel like they once had a good time with michelin 2011 until/and 2018 that they feel like they can overcharge for this experience.

First and last...

place is decent and clean, but the foods are under average. Kimchi totally not spicy and hot as Korean kinds, plain n tasteless. We have tried eel lunch set n the Bulgogi, BBQ, the beef totally not marinated n seasoned enough, the raw beef were in the form of pieces on a pool of water, that made me wondered a lot. worse thing was the beef was so tough n you can't chew. It told you the quality is bad. Try to find excuses for them, may be they have no time to season the beef, dinner may be better. But I will not take risk again to come back, as there are many other Korean Restaurants around. To be fair, the lunch set, The eel was good. Price are reasonable, but the service was bad, no soy bean sauce and any hot sauce to go with. The beef was so tough n tasteless, that I had to ask for a sauce, and they gave a salt oil sauce, which should be for chicken, not for roasted...
