It was happened last Friday (24 April 2020), my friend and I went to your restaurant for happy hours, we heard of your restaurant before, first time there. I was there and got seated before my friend, luckily, we made reservation as there was unexpectedly full than we thought.
When my friend arrived we decided to order white wine from the menu, but wanted to know what white we could choose as it was not listed on the menu, so asked a waitress, she had no idea but need to get the wine menu, two white and two red could be chosen for happy hours, so we ordered Sauvignon Blanc and pizza. A short while later, another waiter came over and told us Sauvignon Blanc was out of stock, and we did not like Chardonnay, so we switched to red, Cabernet Sauvignon, again, out of stock, but left the Shiraz. This really annoyed us, even though it was half price on happy hours, it did not mean that your restaurant could be that cared less to those customers who came for drinks. It seemed that we did not have other choice but went for Prosecco, good thing was your waiter let us order one set of wine and one pizza to share, we were cool.
When we finished first glass of Prosecco, we waved for the last glass for my friend, here came not the same waiter but one with a suit on and name SKY on his name tag, I assumed he could be supervisor, he brought a bottle of Prosecco to our table, and was about to pour to my friend’s glass, I said to him that could he get a new glass, he wore a mask and glasses, but I could still tell that he was bit surprised when I mentioned this to him, and about few seconds later, his face showed annoyed that I should not ask for new glass as we came here to pay HK$88 for 3 glasses of wine, of course, Sky did not fulfil our request, and kept pouring Prosecco to my friend’s glass, then he tried to pour some to mine, this time I stopped him and said we only ordered one order to share, he said we could not share the wine but each of us must order one shot of wine, I did not argue with him but said the other waiter let us do that while we first made our order. Sky was not happy with that, and totally showed no respect to us, seemed that we were not big spender but just tried to take advantage from your restaurant.
My friend and I were so disappointed to your restaurant with such terrible service, definitely won’t come again and will share what we had experienced on our...
Read morePaper Moon has been on my wishlist for some time, and I finally visited for an anniversary celebration, having booked a 3-course lunch set two weeks in advance. We were seated indoors with a nice view of Victoria Harbour, although the sunlight made the space slightly too warm and bright. The table felt a bit narrow for two people.
Service: The service experience was mixed. The first server seemed inexperienced, being unsure about the soup of the day, unfamiliar with the lunch set promotion, and didn’t ask for our preference between chilled or room-temperature still water. However, the second and third servers were much more attentive, professional, and patient. They took great photos for us and contributed to a more enjoyable experience later in the meal.
Food: Starters: The soup was as expected, while the duck galantine a l'orange was flavorful with a hint of foie gras, though the orange flavor was not very noticeable.
Mains: The Australian M5 wagyu sirloin and roasted boneless lamb leg portions were smaller than anticipated. Both meats were on the drier side and less tender than expected. However, the accompanying vegetables and potatoes were a nice addition.
Dessert: The panna cotta was served with a thoughtful anniversary message. The staff also kindly helped us take photos, capturing great angles.
Coffee: Unfortunately, the coffee was too bitter for my taste, and I left it unfinished.
The lunch set promotion offered decent value — order one premium lunch set and get a regular lunch set free.
While the overall service was pleasant (after a slow start) and the view of Victoria Harbour was stunning, the food fell short of expectations, perhaps due to the high anticipation I had for the visit. Nevertheless, Paper Moon is worth considering for its scenic...

Well yes, this is very much my sentiment after the lunch experience I just had. I’ll go out of my way to avoid it.
Actually, everything started out ok, and the food was good, but after 45 mins of waiting AFTER placing our orders (and my slow-eating friend had already been served and finished her pasta meal) I had to chase, or rather, I had to wave like a lunatic in the restaurant to get the attention of a staff, still nothing, chased another staff, chased again a 3rd staff. No apology, no trying to fix the situation.
Absolute nonsense. I told each staff member I tried to chase down that it was unacceptable to be waiting 45 mins for a simple pizza lunch, and I was not going to pay for it. The bill comes around. The pizza is still on the bill. We ask them to remove it based on the poor experience, and the ridiculously long wait, and give the the bill to one of the managers.
Again, we are waiting and waiting for him to come back to settle the bill, again, no sign of him, so we go to his cashiers station to settle. He says in true Hong Kong fashion “sorry CAN NOT remove the pizza” and “wELl YoU aTE tHe PiZzA” but asks what else can I do insinuating he can give me a few dessert or voucher to return. I said sorry there’s nothing, no voucher, no coupon, nothing to fix because I’ll never be coming back (not because the pizza took 45 mins, but because of the way he failed to remediate it). I asked that he just give me the bill (less the pizza) and we’ll be on our way. He’s still arguing he cannot remove the pizza.
I can’t remember in the past 5 yrs which restaurant I vowed to never return, nor any restaurant I’ve told as many ppl as possible not to visit. This is...
