TEKKA — Restaurant in Kowloon

This place is famous for buying a whole bluefin tuna and selling the various cuts to customers...some of the exotic cuts include cheek, neck and top of head of a tuna fish. These cuts are quite unique and you can't find them at other sushi restaurants.

This is a donburi (rice bowl) restaurant serving sashimi over rice. When you order a set, you pick 5~9 kinds of sashimi and a miso soup is included. The price ranges from $80-$160 depending on time of the day, lunch or dinner.

Everything i visit this place, the various tuna cuts (o-toro, chu-toro, negitoro are always fresh and they are my favorites...at least one or two grades higher than those served in other sushi restaurant chains.

The portion was bigger before but again inflation is everywhere. We are fortunate to have a good neighborhood sushi restaurant. IMO, this is still the best C/P ratio for tuna toro bowl in town.

Just a reminder concerning the atmosphere. The space is a bit cramped but it is to be expected becuase the location is in TST. Oftentimes the air conditioning is too strong and you may need a jacket if you are sitting next to...

2 Apr 19: we arrived at 12:10, not many people but full house after 10 mins. Foods are good, sashimi remain their standard. Will come again.

19 Dec 18: Came here again on 19Dec18 lunch, many people than last time, but I was a bit disappointed, because the sashimi was not thicker than last time.

Few weeks ago: Really nice service, foods are made by order, place is clean and price is reasonable (no 10% surcharge) with good quality sashimi. We were always curious about the long line in front of this restaurant and we deciced to give it a try!

They have a set where you choose your rice, tune type, and other 4 toppings for your bowl. Set comes with miso soup.

You can of course add more than 4 toppings but, there will be some additional price (16hkd+). You can opt to choose toppings that has no additonal charge which will cost you 110hkd. The extra charges are mentioned in the order form.
