Tequila Mex — Restaurant in Kowloon

Me and my partner have been here several times. Usually we love this place. But i have to give 1 star for two reasons.

First, neither myself nor my partner drink alcohol and when we come here, we don't usually order any other drinks either. But we have always felt that some of the staff here get annoyed and irritated that we don't order drinks. I don't know if management order them to act annoyed or irritated in order to pressure the customer or the staff work on commision, but it is an unpleasant experience. We love Mexican food and the openness of Mexicans. A shame the staff can't adopt the same warmth.

Second, i don't know if this is connected to the drink situation, but the portions are now smaller. We ordered the fried chicken because we know it's usually juicy with a good amount of meat. This time, the chicken was suffering from anorexia and was dry. Very disappointing, considering our bill came to $261 for nachos, chicken and a drink.

Attended Tequila Jacks with my bf who arrived from Australia. Upon arrival the lady was not welcoming anyway we decided to try the cocktails as it was happy hr and the bar looked half decent. When the cocktails arrived all was good until we sipped them. There was no alcoholic taste in both the margarita or the piñata cocktail. My bf complained and the lady said “yeah alcohol will hit u when u finish the glass” . Now there was no alcohol smell or taste from both cocktails. Everyone in the world knows if u add a shot or 2 to a glass u should smell and taste the alcohol. The palata was 3/4 glass full of ice. Absolutely ridiculous there was definitely no alcohol b either glass and we were ripped off. Avoid this place at all costs. If my bf was local living here and not flying out a few days later he would have refused to pay but in the end I just have to accept and not worth the trouble. Isn't it good when you find a place perfect for Friday night Happy Hour?Tequila Jack's really hits the spot for me. The atmosphere is casual enough for you to unwind after a long day at work. Needless to say, I ordered a beer for happy hour.
