YAMA — Restaurant in Kowloon

YAMA is a interesting kerbside coffee shop that I like to stop by from time to time. This is actually the ground floor of an upstairs vintage shop, situated at the corner for Pitt and Tong On streets in Yau Ma Tei. There is one seat outside but you can take coffees upstairs while shopping or to walk around while exploring the neighbourhood. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm daily.

During my last visit, I tried their black orange, a nicely prepared cold coffee drink. They use real orange juice which blended with the coffee very nicely. This was a refreshing summer coffee drink, much enjoyed on a muggy and hot afternoon. Service was very friendly and fast, price just fine for what was served. A very adorable coffee shop around the corner!

Both the service and atmosphere were 10/10. The service staff was really friendly and smiling widely. I definitely felt really welcomed.

We ordered an Iced Americano and Iced Oatmilk latte. We really wanted to love them but they fall short on taste 😅 The coffees were tasteless and diluted. We drank them right upon getting them too so the ice shouldn’t matter too much.

I probably won’t be back as I’m quite picky with my coffee. But definitely worth a visit for those...

The price is aggressive coz the portion, price and the food quality are not proportionate: half serving of chicken toast costs $40, not impressive (tho not tasteless) anyway. Cappuccino is just so so as well. My expectation was simple, just having sth light and yummy so that I would enjoy the environment and have a chat with my frds. But then the whole setting was a complete no-no. It's all right to have it in the winter, but probably would be quite hot...
