滾爺火鍋 Bubbly Feast Hotpot — Restaurant in Kowloon

It's not easy to find restaurants that are open all night nowadays, but surprisingly, we found this hot pot restaurant in the bustling Mong Kok market.

The restaurant is small, with two four-person tables and four small tables. There is also a VIP seating area upstairs. There are many choices for the soup base, and each one is very enticing.

For our two-person meal, we chose Angus beef eye round, handmade cuttlefish paste, bamboo shoots, tofu puffs, and asparagus as our ingredients.

The Angus beef eye round costs $188 and looks very attractive when it arrives. It's a generous portion with a good balance of lean and fatty meat, probably around 10-12 slices.

The handmade cuttlefish paste costs $78 and comes in two servings. It is topped with crab roe, and when you bite into it, you can feel the texture of the cuttlefish grains, which is very chewy.

The bamboo shoots cost $48 and come in six pieces. They are very tender and smooth.

The asparagus costs $38 and offers great value for the price. The thick, wavy cuts are refreshing and crisp when cooked in the hot pot.

Absolutely the worst meal I had on my 3 1/2 week trip to Asia, the woman that served the hotpot turned the heat up so high that it scalded the bottom of the pot and then she brought more coconut water for the hotpot and charged me for a double portion of coconut water without even saying that there would be an additional fee, which is ridiculous on top of that there were no vegetables, but a few white onions and raw chicken added to the broth! There was nothing special this is not a good Hotpot restaurant. There are far better options in Arizona than this place and this was a highly rated hot pot restaurant in Hong Kong! They also pulled the old - these guys are clearly tourists trick and when the bill came, they added a service fee, which was the only restaurant on my entire trip that did that; so because we didn’t speak Chinese and because we happen to be white they decided to double charge us for something that should’ve been free and had a service fee - stay away from this place!!!!
