My fiancé and I frequent the Salvio building often since it's so conveniently located and has many options. Somehow going dozens of times we hadn't turned left and tried KO until recently and let me tell you- it was well worth the stop! We enjoyed it so much the first time and craved it until we returned the very next night. I personally appreciated the option to view the menu in English which always helps me be a little more adventurous! Our server was attentive and helpful with recommendations which we really appreciated. We got the spicy edamame to start out and it was the perfect hint of spice and lemon I want to say. The portion size was a little small but I still loved the flavor profile. We were told they were tapas style and things came out as they were prepared and were meant to be shared, I loved this because we got to try more than we otherwise would have. We ordered the tuna Izakaya Burgers which were so decadent and the perfect bite size, the bun was beautifully buttered and complimented all the ingredients perfectly. We also got the Yaki Udon which you can see in my photos/video was a real treat as it came topped with dehydrated fish that danced around while the plate was steaming- it was drenched in a perfect sweet sauce that brought the whole dish together, the chicken was wonderfully tender and glazed in the sauce. For dessert we ordered the banana rolls and I can't recommend this plate enough, they were perfectly crispy while also soft and chewy, the citrus ice cream was the most spectacular addition to the banana rolls and the coconut was the perfect crunch. We ended up going back the next day wanting more of the tuna burgers and this time we sat at the bar and it was such a treat to watch them craft the most beautiful drinks, my fiancé asked for the bartender's recommendation for a drink, and ended up with a lulu and jack daniels drink which was very refreshing although I’m not sure if it’s on their menu. We will definitely be...
Read moreAtmosphere was fantastic, especially on a Monday night- full of people but the two of us were seated right away. Difficulty with language barrier, our server asked another English speaking server to assist. I ordered a Thai Green Curry and my friend ordered Japanese ramen. Server asked if they should bring the food as it’s ready or altogether, we answered — as it’s ready. One appetizer came out first then the next appetizer came out together with both of our entrees— my dish wasn’t as hot, not sure if they followed our request, but there was a small bowl shrimp and we both didn’t know if it’s part of the appetizer, my entree or my friend’s entree. We asked the server who plated it, and he pointed the shrimp goes with the ramen. I thought it was odd that shrimp goes with ramen- because that’s not very authentic but I found it less odd as I tried my Thai green curry because it does not taste authentic or even close to it because it should not have a sour or lime flavor as a dominant element but slices of lime was all over the dish- not to mention shrimp may not the best type of protein to order at this restaurant or maybe in the city. And in the end when the bill came out, the cost was more than what we expected— the flavorless drink my friend was recommended was as pricey as the entree. There was extra charge for the shrimp- which my friend did not order (you don’t eat shrimp with ramen). They included tips without asking. The server who helped with the English said he thought my friend asked for shrimp, and apologize for not confirming yet does not take it off the bill. Well after everything, that’s a hefty up charge for tourists like us. Unhappy and of course we are not coming back for sure, even though the environment was really chill,...
Read moreReally disappointing experience. Went there because the restaurant claims that it offers a variety of Asian plates. I ordered a Szechuan Pork , it was horrible, not even closely taste like Chinese food , not even mention the Szechuan flavor. Has the chef ever tried an authentic Chinese dish? The plate costs more than 30k cop but in a size of a starter, with the same money you can get a decent main dish at Osaka. Come on, if you want people pay extra at least make the food taste good not just the fancy interior decorations. What's worse, when I tried to order pho, there is only one pho available and doesn't not even look like pho, seriously? Then I tried to order a ramen which looks pretty good, my only request was taking out the scallion but was told according to the protocol, the scallion has to be scattered over the dish. I am like what? All the best ramen restaurants in Japan never have such a weird protocol like this, how come a self claimed Asian restaurant has such a ridiculous rule? I mean if the food is not good at least the service should compensate it, well, it is obviously not the case here either. Definitely not worth the money, I'd go to Osaki or Wok for Asian food or El Chino for dim sum. Amen Ramen is way better, at least they are humble enough to call themselves fusion ramen and the fusion is pretty good. I sincerely hope the owner realizes that Bogota is an international city you can not just make fake asian food with bad services and not expect one day actual asians come in and praise the food while happily spending the money. A total...
