This is a very pretty place to sit and read a book, from their wide selection of new editions. I have visited twice, hoping for improvement bc this city certainly would benefit from this place being a success. I decided not to write a review after my first abysmal visit bc I knew they were recently opened and I wanted to give them time to work things out. I returned after a couple of weeks and though the service has improved, the food has not. The prices on the pastries are very reasonable. I find them dry. The sourdough bread is good and a great price to value. The coffee is really quite bad which surprises me bc they have Amor Perfecto supporting them. In my last visit, my group ordered 4 different coffee beverages and we were all left unimpressed. One was a âtropical cold brewâ that was served in a small wine glass that couldnât have been more than 6oz and was mostly ice, price: COP15.900. How did it taste? So bad I actually put table salt in it to improve it, which it actually did. The coffee in all four drinks was watery and lacked any complexity. All of the coffee drinks that were served cold had much more ice than liquid. The food is very pricey. I ordered the huevos migas, a typical breakfast dish. To complete what to me is normal in a breakfast egg dish, I added cheese, bacon and avocado. The price of my dish with the additions was over COP55.000. For reference, the ribeye at Serena (arguably one of the best dinner restaurants in Santa Marta) costs COP69,500 and it comes with potatoes, arugula, and vegetables. The sandwiches are supposed to be their savory specialty, given that they are a bakery, and they are utterly preposterous. The bread is long and narrow, and they stack them with stuff that simply doesnât fit on the bread, it falls out. This happened to be on both my visits after making comment to the staff. The people around me faced the same experience. Photo for reference.
I am not writing this out of spite. I sincerely wish this place well. The neighborhood benefits with another successful operator. I would love a place to have a great lunch and buy a truly good cinnamon roll. I will continue to return and if my experience improves I will edit this post. But for now, this is a place is only good to look at and buy a loaf of...
Read moreThis is a really cute place to grab brunch. Itâs in middle of a bookstore and the service is very friendly. There is free WiFi easy to connect. I would say the food though is pretty average and portions are not very generous and the prices are also on the higher side. But itâs a fun place to grab a bite and to just enjoy the vibe...
