Restaurant Review Our group of 56 stopped here during a vocational pilgrimage en route to Rome, and we were absolutely delighted by the experience. The restaurant itself was stunning — beautifully designed with impeccable aesthetics that created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed a family-style meal, and every course was exceptional. The soup was rich and savory, the chicken perfectly seasoned, and the mashed potatoes were, without a doubt, the best we’ve had so far on our journey. Dessert struck the perfect balance of sweetness without being overwhelming. The beer was also a standout — smooth, refreshing, and thoroughly enjoyed by many in our group. Overall, this restaurant delivered on every level. Delicious food, excellent drinks, and a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!

It took a good while for a waiter to show up at our table and to come back by. The portion sizes were ridiculously large, a friend and I were going to split a dish for 2 and it could have fed 4-5 people. Another friend got a salad and at first we literally thought it was just feta cheese because they dumped a heaping mound on top; I think there was more cheese than salad. The chicken thigh, despite being dark meat was dry and just tasted like charcoal from the grill. The sausages & ribs were good, though, as was the meat & cheese plate. It took us so long to get food that I was ready to leave before dessert, but we had ordered a few to split and I think they were good; I ready to leave at that point so it didn't stick out to me.

This restaurant is in Old Town and very central. Facing the famous Zagreb Cathederal. Walking distance to the local vegetables and fruits market. Also walking distance to the town square. Food are fine but the only set back I encountered was they charge me € 1 for some ketchup for my guests for each table of 9 people. I have 28 guests. We have so many guest and just 3 small plates of ketchup and they charge money fo it. It is not so much about money matter but just hope the restaurant to be more flexible. Im not asking for each guest 1 plate of ketchup!!! This is the 1st time I give 2stars rating in my years of travelling in more than 100 countries. I may not consider to eat here again. MY FIRST AND MY LAST!!

We enjoyed really delicious and authentic Croatian food and wine. My party was all very happy with our selections and the wine choices of the waiter as well. My friend’s mother, a Croatian native, loved her meal which is always a good sign. Beautifully prepared courses...all of them. Unfortunately, our once friendly waiter turned rather salty at 22:30 when we asked for a final glass of wine (our 3rd and final). He was rude and frankly very misogynistic with how he spoke to us. We are all expats living abroad and used to going with the flow of a country’s norms but this was not a remotely reasonable response to a benign request. He said they close at 23h and basically we needed to wrap it up and just go home. Honestly, he had been quite friendly up until then but at this point he spoke to a group of 45+ yr old women like we were ill-behaved children. He rolled his eyes and mocked anything we said until we left. It was beyond weird. We concluded he must be bi-polar. So the food and wine were spot on but our unsound waiter shouldn’t be dealing with the...

Our visit to Kapitolska Klet was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had. From the moment we walked in, the staff was absolutely horrible, inattentive, and rude. We were ignored for at least 20 minutes, unable to even order drinks as we were completely overlooked.

When a waiter finally arrived, he completely ignored our request for drinks and immediately started taking our food orders. This chaotic and unprofessional behavior continued throughout the meal. Some of our group were still waiting to order drinks a full 30 minutes later.

I have never encountered such rude and dismissive staff. The service was not just poor, it was actively insulting. To add to the disappointment, the food itself was mediocre at best.

Given the shocking lack of basic hospitality, I would advise anyone to avoid this restaurant. The abysmal service ruined the entire evening and made for an unforgettable experience for all the...

Let’s get the negatives out of the way, and I really hope the owner sees this, you need to hire more waiters! We had to wait over 30minutes and chased 3 times for the bill to arrive, but it’s not the fault of the staff themselves, the 3 people who had to work the bar AND served customers were non stop and going at full speed! They deserve the cash tip I left and I hope they receive it.

Now onto the positives, the atmosphere is so relaxing and live music was the perfect touch. Food was delicious, we had veal risotto, perfectly cooked and strong in flavour, octopus was very fresh, the roasted veal was soft and tender. Not a bad thing to say about food quality and friendliness of staff when we first arrived before the big rush. Just hire more so they are not so stretched! Good waiters like this are hard to replace! The owner should...
