We originally planned to go to Boiler nightclub, but couldn’t justify the €30 entry fee (which doesn’t even include a drink). Instead, we found a supposed deal: spend €30 per person at their partner restaurant, Roof 68, and get free entry to Boiler before 12:30 AM. We paid €150 for five people that morning, expecting a decent night with drinks, food, and club entry.
Unfortunately, everything about the experience was overpriced, disorganised, and frankly, rude.
When we arrived at Roof 68, we stood at the door for 10 minutes completely ignored by staff. Eventually seated, we were given one menu between five people. Cocktails were €15 expensive, but we’d prepaid so we figured it was fine. Drinks were okay, but not remotely worth that price. I ordered “tempura prawns” and received three tiny breaded scampi — not remotely what was advertised.
The service was dreadful. Staff were cold, slow, and barely spoke to us. It felt like they were doing us a favour by letting us eat there. The whole place is about image, not experience.
Still, we kept positive, reminding ourselves we’d at least get into Boiler for free.
We arrived at Boiler at 12:00 AM, well before the 12:30 cutoff. The line was long, and we waited 45 minutes to get to the front. When we showed our Roof 68 receipt, the door staff said, “No, it’s too late.” We explained we had been waiting in line since 12. Her response? “That’s not my problem.”
After spending €150 at their restaurant, following their rules exactly, we were still turned away and expected to pay full entry. Disgusted, we walked away and spent our money elsewhere.
Also: €5 for water, €21 for a vodka mixer inside Boiler. Save yourself the cash and the headache.Pretentious vibe with no substance
Looks flashy on social media, but in reality it’s a money grab with no respect for customers. Don’t be fooled by the aesthetic avoid both Roof 68 and...
Read moreOn a rainy day then had blankets which was very nice.. feel like place is kinda a hidden gem because it is upstairs and has weird marketing advertisements like "fetish" outside. But its so cozy and the music is good. Not too loud and not annoying. Regarding food, very tiny portions for price. unfortunately.
Waiter was very fast and service was good. Maybe i went on a non busy day as it was 3pm and In October on a rainy day. Also had free wifi Hotspot from media king! There are not many good places to work on laptop in Split asides the library so this was fantastic.
My service was very fast and food came out quick too, so I am happy to provide a tip. Wasn't bothered on laptop either. Actually asked waiter if its ok for me to sit and he said I can sit until tomorrow if I like! I saw other people order burgers that looked very good and big portion. When paying, he was transparent that there was a 10% tip included already. I read other reviews that said they dont tell you theres a tip included, so maybe this restaurant has changed or something. I was happy to tip more and appreciate the service of the waiter in tracksuit who seemed to be a Croatian local.
I also saw some reviews saying the staff is rude or impolite which i don't think is true. It may be a cultural difference because locals just have different and more straightforward communication style, which can be jarring for Americans or British tourists but at least you are experiencing different cultural communication styles this way, as Croatian and Balkan/Slavics do not view this as rude and they do not have bad...
Read moreArrived to Split today and thought what a wonderful rooftop bar with good atmosphere and music! I was really excited and decided to sit down for a drink but was surprised by your waitress who quite bluntly (without even nicely greeting me) told me that there are no mocktails at all, only soft drinks (when I requested for a cocktail without alcohol). I wasn’t offered any alternatives (honestly on a hot day I would have been pretty happy with just a lime soda) and felt a bit unwelcomed unfortunately 😔
I’ve never been to a restaurant that wouldn’t be able to offer an alcohol free mojito for example. This was an attitude matter of the waitress ofc - she could’ve asked for assitance, I’m sure someone in the staff could’ve put a drink together but the last thing someone who works in hospitality should do is to make the customer walk away (and I’m sure that’s not why people are hired in the first place). Especially a client who’s relatively easy to satisfy. I personally don’t want to go to a cocktail bar - or have a night out with friends and drink coca cola. Also how she threw me an ashtray before I had requested a drink wasn’t very classy, since I don’t personally even smoke.
Might still give this place another chance🤞🏻since I think I might’ve been just unlucky with staff.
Update: I did go there again. Different staff but just as rude 😂 Came to charge when I had just started my drink because ”his shift is ending” - what kind of nonsense is that haha! The people here seem very arrogant. One bartender smiled - that was nice because the other ones looked like they’re...
