Večerka Brno — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

Even though the place is nice and coffee is good, we had a really poor experience for brunch. We waited really long time, they served brunch to another table which came after us, one dish was extremely salty, and the other also very disappointing. For 259ck i got a bowl with a few potatos swimming in hollandaise sauce (which was supposed to be flavoured with lemongrass, but which was just acid), a few edamame beans, pieces of smoked trout, and supposedly it should have contained enoki mushrooms. I told the waitress my dish didnt have them, and after suggesting it was the green parts on my dish (which actually were the microgreens), she asked the cook, and came back saying he told her he had "mixed them in". Of course she wasnt able to identify them and just stood there uncomfortably. Then I showed her what the enoki look like in the dish, which they had posted a picture of in their instagram and she just said "I already told you what the cook said". For the price of a burger with fries, there is no reason to come back for brunch to this place for me. If you really care about nice presentation and dont mind to pay much more than its worth for it, then I guess this...

Loved certain parts of my experience here, but other parts of it not so much.

The space is beautiful - light, colorful, and well-designed. Lots of different seating options and tables. Saloon-style doors into the bathroom alcove.

The bento box 🍱 for lunch was pretty good but a bit underwhelming (except for the sesame mochi stuffed with pulled duck - that was outstanding). However, a couple tablespoons of pho broth (nothing solid other than a bit of cilantro) should not qualify as an entire dish.

The flat white was underwhelming. The worst part was that I was encouraged to get Sproud milk, yet no one mentioned (nor is it displayed anywhere on the price board or menu) that it would cost an extra 15 CZK for this 'replacement milk.' On top of an already expensive 85 CZK, 100 CZK total for an underwhelming flat white was a disappointing experience. And the surprise of the extra charge on the bill wasn't a nice way to end the stay...

Super nice place. I leave 3 stars because even though coffee and food were perfect, when I asked for a bit more tap water (100ml more) the waitress explained to me that is only 1 tiny glass of water per coffee, then she decided to make an "exception". Beautiful example of a good place ruined by bad service decisions.

My little advice here, don't through away such an amazing new place by "saving tap water", I think is the first in Europe that this happens to me, I just can't understand the reason of this, since giving tap water for free is almost a standard in the industry.
