We had an excellent experience overall. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and professional, and the presentation stood out. One particularly cool touch was the final preparation of the dishes done on a cart right at the table—a unique and memorable detail. Everything felt thoughtful and well executed.
That said, there were a couple of things that caught us off guard. A small bread plate with butter was brought out before the meal, which we appreciated—but it showed up as a line item on the bill. We’ve dined at many fine restaurants and have never seen bread charged separately like that. Not a big deal, just unusual.
Also, when my wife asked if they had something salty—like a pickle—the staff kindly brought some out. We had no idea it would come with a $10 charge. Again, it’s not about the money—it’s just the kind of thing you’d expect to be mentioned beforehand in a place of this caliber.
All in all, it was a great dinner and we’d happily come back. Just be aware of a few add-on charges that aren’t clearly...
Read moreLovely find in Karlovy Vary! We wanted to have a nice evening, but not overly fancy, so we opted out for this place, and enjoyed very much. We were welcomed, and seated at a place that was slightly uncomfortable - the space is rather small so the tables are close to each other, and you feel quite strange with staff keep passing close by behind your back. We promptly ordered and were looking forward, quite hungry. But we really waited way too long for our dishes to arrive. Over an hour for the main plate. That really annoyed us quite a lot, so even though the food was really great, it did not make such an impression on us. I personally was looking forward to the crepes, but... Well, it was slightly underwhelming. Good, but I kind of hoped for more. The restaurant is not cheap. Don't get me wrong, probably OK considering the location and quality of food, but we definitely did not expect the bill to end up being...
Read moreDifficult place to review, on one hand the starters (carpaccio & consomme) were very good, but the main dishes (turbot and deer) were very bad. Deer was overcooked and dry almost as powder and accompanied by undercooked potatoes. Service was attentive, and brought the classically correct silverware, but on the other hand they had trouble doing wine pairings. The water costs as much as a glass of champagne, if you have to pick one, I recommend the champagne. Additional 20Czk service fee per person will also have to be paid.
This feels like fine dine role-play, and is way too expensive for what is delivered.
The complimentary bread is also a joke, dry and straight from the supermarket, accompanied by excellent home made herb and garlic butter. How can I even review...
