Ristorante Capri — Restaurant in okres Karlovy Vary

We had an ok lunch at this restaurant. To start with one is bound to be in a state of shock when you see the prices. I mean a spaghetti with a simple tomato sauce was €17. Luckily for us we don’t eat fish or meat and we don’t drink alcohol so after going through the menu we decided to stick around and place the order. When the food came out, pretty quickly too, we kind of understood why the prices were so high. The portion sizes were HUGE and that €17 spaghetti was easily for 2 people. We also ordered a pizza with tomato and mozzarella and the quality of the dough was spot on. Surprisingly the desserts were not over-priced at about €7-8 per portion. We had the profiteroles in a chocolate sauce which was really good. But for us the star of the show was the Tiramisu, probably the best and biggest Tiramisu we ever had. It was AMAZING.

Our waiter was a friendly and smiley gentleman and over all we felt good. It’s 2 stars because of the Tiramisu otherwise...

the restaurant looked promising, decided to go in without checking the reviews.. bad choice, honestly. the food was mediocre, and the prices were absolutely exorbitant, way higher than in the menu. even a tomato salad the echivalent of ~13-14 dollars, and the rest was just as expensive if not even more. oh yeah, they also forgot to bring us a vegetable plated, yet charged for it and it also costed 10 dollars. last but not least, the waitresses english skills also are questionable, leaving us with a hard time communicating our order, and also being close to not getting another dish as well because the waitress forgot to write it down. dont get fooled by the photos with the celebrities!! there are way cheaper and better...

The restaurant uses photos of celebrities at its front windows to help drive tourists in. The food is plain and simple like tourist trap food. I ordered tomato soup and literally it was like marinara sauce with water and parmesan. Next order was a margherita pizza that was a floppy mess, entirely too much cheese and no basil. How does a margarita not come with basil?!? Finally we ordered the Tagliatelle with shrimp in a cream sauce. The sauce had absolutely no flavor, tasted like corn starch, flour, garlic and milk. No flavor at all which was quite a shame, the Tagliatelle was Al Dente and shrimp firm, fresh tasting. If you are looking for a good place for Italian food, I'd walk about 20 minutes down the road to...
