I chose this restaurant by the recommendation of a polite receptionist met in a guided tour of the Pilsner Urquell factory. At U Salzmannů is possible to find excellent beers, but this is also possibile everywhere in Czech Rep. Every bar, every restaurant have it. We ordered 3 courses of typical bohemian cuisine. In two courses, food was not bad, in average. But one course, mine, had a wrong cooking. The pork roast was very dry and over cooked. It was woody. But the pleasant day in Plzeň was spoiled by the service of this place: Cold and far service. Superficial. No smiling, no asking. Particulary, a young waiter treated us very rudely and aggressively when we asked for the bill in English language: there was a misunderstanding and he understood "one beer". He served me a beer and when I pointed out to him we hadn't asked for "beer" but "the bill" he reacted very rudely because he had tapped a glass of beer. And even at a distance after he walked away he continued to murmur something bad. Just for a beer. Just for a misunderstanding!!! Or maybe because we were tourists and also foreigners!!! I pointed out the disreputable and aggressive behavior to his waiter's female colleague. This is no way to treat customers who bring you money and business. She apologized for this rude colleague. But she wasn't to blame. THE MANAGER is guilty. Who chooses the room staff have to understand the attitude of the workers. If waiters have kindness and if they know how to manage mistakes without losing control. We left, but all afternoon it was very annoying to remember this episode. I got in my car and ran away. Arrived in Plzen in the early evening, after a long car journey with two children and my mother with walking problems, my wife and I choose this traditional cuisine restaurant. Once seated, the waitress tells us that the kitchen closes at 10, once the order has been completed, incredible attitudes of annoyance on the face and in the deeds of one of the waiters, caused by our presence since 8.50, who served us annoyed and answered rudely to my wife's question as to whether that dish served was veal or pork. The same waiter, when I called him, looked at me irritably and challenged himself as a sign. They even made us pay the bill during dinner... Extremely paradoxical situation! We have traveled far and wide in Europe and have never received such an attitude of rudeness and lack of professionalism as in this place that is not very open to tourist reception. nfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant. The service was consistently unfriendly and unhelpful throughout our visit. When we spontaneously arrived with 10 people instead of our originally planned 8, the staff showed no flexibility or willingness to find a solution. Rather than making constructive suggestions or attempting to accommodate us, they responded very rudely. Good service is characterized by flexibility and customer orientation - unfortunately, none of that was evident here. The staff seemed stressed and unapproachable.
