Well, I have no idea how that restaurant gets 4,6 in ratings ?!.. either is was really unlucky or some other dubios mechanism work here. Fact is that it started all well, when I arrived as a single person. Guy straight on a seat and then the menus and they recommended my the home brewed beer. Tastes good. As a starter I chooses a goose pate and it was nice, also was served with a warm bread. But then the waitress pushed really if I wanted a second beer , although my glass was still half full and it wasn’t late. I rejected and waited for the second dish ( the famous goose leg 20€ with sides.) it took a lot of time and that is the typical technic for stretching it and try to sell the client more drinks.. the the waitress ask two more times butt I said, I am deciding what to drink when the second dish arrives .. and guess what .. it arrived promptly!.. but that was a big disappointment! A very dry and thin goose leg with very little red cabbage and sourkrout beside but plenty of dry potato’s bread things. Do I just a Diet Coke but made sure I get a bottle and not a glass full of ice and basically no coke inside. Then when I finished that disappointing dish I ask for the bill and got ask if I want to pay in cash ?.. nope I said ! Because that happens everywhere in Prag .. we all know what it means, when they ask for cash ?.. do t we ?.. well .. tax avoidance I would guess! But I rejected the capital gain game and payed by card and you could clearly see that he wasn’t happy !.. at least he was so smart and didn’t ask for Tip !.. what he did at the couple next to me !.. all over all : I expected more, but in the end it was just another...
Read moreOur recent visit to Bohemia Goose was a culinary delight that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, the restaurant transported us to a world of authentic Czech culture and cuisine, and we can't stop raving about it!
The standout feature of our dining experience was undoubtedly the perfect roasted goose. The succulent, tender meat practically melted in our mouths, and the crispy skin was absolutely divine. It was a culinary masterpiece that left us craving more.
The restaurant's atmosphere is like stepping into a different era. The rustic decor, traditional Czech music, and staff create an ambiance that's reminiscent of Prague. This authenticity adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience, and we loved every minute of it.
One of the standout aspects of our visit was the atmosphere manager, Lubos. He's not just a manager; he's a true showman! Lubos went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. His charismatic and lively presence added an extra layer of fun and entertainment to the evening.
To complement the delicious roasted goose, Bohemia Goose offers a variety of typical Czech side dishes like lokse, bramborak, and knedlik. We also loved the cabbage, both red and white one was truly remarkable.
And let's not forget the in-house produced beer.
We can't wait to return for another helping of that delicious...
Read moreWe recently visited Bohemian Goose in Prague and had an extremely disappointing experience, despite the good food and quick service. The restaurant is not at all kid-friendly, and I have three examples to illustrate why.
First, when the waitress came to take our order, my 1.5-year-old daughter was crying. As we tried to ask questions about the menu, the waitress bent down to show us something, and raised her finger to my daughter and said, "Shh."
Later, while bringing our food, the waitress asked, half-jokingly, "Why is your child so loud?" "Sorry" that I didn’t put a muzzle on my baby to keep her from talking and shouting!! I didn’t know you wanted customers with a specific decibel level!
Finally, when she came to clear our plates and asked if we wanted anything else, we said no, and she immediately asked if we wanted to pay. We've been to many restaurants and know it's not polite to ask if someone wants to pay unless they’ve requested the bill. We realized they wanted us to leave because other reservations were coming in, and they didn’t want us disturbing them with our baby.
This was the worst experience regarding behavior. We still tipped 10% because we’re not as petty...
